What was the initial spark for the property and how did it all begin?

Calette Wedding is the wedding & event service offered by the Hotel Le Calette.

The story of Le Calette is intertwined with the story of the Cacciola-Miccichè family. It began in the 1960s when engineer Santino Cacciola fell in love with the untouched beauty of the Caldura Bay on the Sicilian coast. Initially seeking a small piece of land to build a family house, he discovered that he could only purchase the entire two-hectare strip of land for sale.

Encircled by a glistening Mediterranean Sea and breathtaking landscapes, a secluded cove in Palermo Italy beckons. Recognizing the potential of what was then considered low-value, rocky terrain, he decided to create a sanctuary that harmonized with the natural landscape. His vision was to build a large family home that could also serve as a peaceful retreat for guests from around the world. His technical expertise, combined with creative intuition, led him to envision a unique haven on the Sicilian coast, winding around the “calette” (small coves nestled along the coastline). His efforts laid the groundwork for what would become a family legacy in hospitality.

Following Santino, his daughter Francesca Cacciola and her husband, Angelo Miccichè, took the reins. Francesca, deeply passionate about Sicilian tradition and hospitality, and Angelo, an experienced architect in the hotel tourism industry, further developed and expanded the property. Their combined efforts infused the place with a rich blend of elegance, cultural appreciation, and a homely atmosphere. Over the years, Le Calette evolved into a luxurious yet welcoming establishment, embodying the essence of Sicilian warmth and hospitality. The couple’s dedication to maintaining the architectural harmony and the Mediterranean soul of the place ensured that every aspect of the hotel reflected their passion for their land.

Today, Gaia, the third generation, oversees Marketing and Communications, promoting the values that Le Calette has embodied since its inception: familial warmth, nature, and generosity.

What spaces do you offer for a wedding or event?

We offer a variety of spaces for weddings and events, including terraces overlooking the bay and a garden featuring centuries-old olive trees, both of which have direct access to the sea and a pebble beach. Additionally, we have spacious meeting and dining rooms with large windows that provide stunning views of the bay, which can be used in case of unfavourable weather conditions.

It is possible to choose from a wide range of combinations and packages that will always include the suite for the wedding night with our pleasant welcome kit and a floral decoration to be customized according to your preferences.

How many guests can you cater for?

Le Calette offers its own catering service. We can cater for up to 300 guests and organize a wide range of events, from a welcome dinner on our private sandy beach at sunset to a brunch on a lawn with a sea view.
