About Casas Secretas

Casas Secretas, which translates to secret houses, is a collection of family homes all of which are surrounded by the beauty of the hinterland in the more hidden parts of the Byron Bay region. Casas Secretas homes reflect how the family lives, their sense of style, and have all been thoughtfully designed to appreciate the natural beauty of its’ gardens and countryside. 

Casas Secretas offers two of their homes for intimate weddings and elopement experiences, La Villa and The Dairy. Both homes are located on the same 55 acre property in Tintenbar which is just a 25 minute drive from Byron Bay.

What spaces do you offer for weddings and events?

Casas Secretas offers two of their homes for intimate elopement experiences, La Villa and The Dairy. Both homes are located on the same 55 acre property in Tintenbar which is just a 25 minute drive from Byron Bay.

Walk us through the style of each location…

La Villa has a distinctly Italian feel with each room opening to separate Tuscan style courtyards, where romantic climbing roses, antique pots, scented vines and bronze sculptures feature. The outdoor event space is set in the central Tuscan courtyard overlooking sculptural cactus gardens and the hills of the hinterland. La Villa is equipped with an under-cover outdoor dining area and authentic Sicilian wood fire pizza oven, large enough to cater for an entire Mediterranean feast.

The Dairy is a two-bedroom luxury home perched high on a hill with panoramic views of its lush, picturesque surrounds. It was inspired by the original old dairy on the farm and has been designed with moody interiors and floor to ceiling glass to accentuate the natural beauty of the countryside from every space. The old dairy building now serves as an undercover outdoor feasting space ideal for an intimate dinner with family and friends.

Casas Secretas offers a range of different wedding and elopement packages for The Dairy and La Villa upon request.

Do you offer onsite accommodation?

Yes, all bookings include accommodation at The Dairy for 2 nights – a luxurious two bedroom home built just outside the original Dairy and a short walk from La Villa.

The Dairy can also be rented separately for accommodation stays and honeymoons in the Byron Bay hinterland.

Tucked away on the outskirts of Byron it’s a new venue that spills with style (and hasn’t been done to death!).

Casas Secretas caters for intimate weddings, so it’s the perfect space for those who want to focus on creating one incredibly magical tablescape with a level of detail that wouldn’t be easily replicated en masse. The venue also has a myriad of options for ceremony, post-ceremony aperitivo hour and your reception dinner between La Villa and The Dairy. It’s a venue for those who want everything within the one property and love the idea of moving guests through different areas, revealing each one as the night unfolds.

Styling Tips…

For La Villa, choose styling that is inspired by the earthen surrounds – muted tones, plenty of contrasting textural layers, organic shapes and wildflowers. For The Dairy, this masculine, rustic space is perfect to contrast with more ethereal, feminine styling – think delicate, sculptural blooms or branches of blossoms, featherlight silk napkins that spill over edges, gilded details to elevate it all and plenty of ambient lighting.
