About Céne Studio

Driven by the love for spatial design, Céne Studio curates ethereal landscapes that transcend the ordinary. They infuse innovative concepts and elements, orchestrating celebrations that resonate deeply with the essence of modern lovers. With an unwavering commitment to pushing boundaries of conventional beauty, they create events that are as distinctive as your love story.

Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

Céne was born out of the love of light and space and its ability to evoke complex emotions in anyone who experiences it in the way a designer intends. Creative Director Angela Laird felt it was important to bring this concept into the context of an event space which very often follows a traditional flow. Céne aims to transform these usual and expected spaces into an experience that is truly unique.

“The position of elements, the direction of light, and the decorative ambiance of space are all vital in creating an experience. Their juxtaposition allows others to find a genuine connection to how we’re feeling or what we intend the moment to feel like.” – Angela Laird

What services do you offer couples?

We offer comprehensive wedding design, which includes floristry, stationery, hire, and coordination. We are one of the few wedding designers in Victoria that offer an all-inclusive service. No creative element is outsourced. Our Creative Director works one-on-one with each client, and individually designs each event. Our services are highly personal and connected, just as your wedding is to you.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

The Céne aesthetic is understated, minimalist and refined. We take what everyone knows and loves, and elevate it with an avant-garde approach that promises a new perspective. A Céne event doesn’t solely rely on the aesthetic that is obvious in a photo. We weave elements of movement, flow, scent and sound – a sensory and interactive affair.

As a planner or stylist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

I love seeing couples push boundaries, taking inspiration from art rather than the wedding world itself. Our inspiration behind the brand comes from our love of architecture and interior design, experimenting with elements that are often very considered in the design world and bringing them into an event space. I love that the industry is taking this direction.

What would you like to see less of?

It’s time to let go of cliches and outdated traditions that no longer serve us. Let’s start fresh.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

Engage a stylist or a planner at the start of the process. Stylist and planners have large verified networks and a very thorough understanding of other vendors’ processes. They are able to identify loop holes and pitfalls that can set you back, before you are even aware of them. In retrospect, every couple agrees.

Hire vendors based on the work they produce. This means you will get the most out of your experience.

Lastly, and most importantly, trends don’t exist unless someone starts them – be that person.
