About Class A Jewellers

Class A Jewellers, built on a notion of relaxed luxury, has been crafting bespoke creations celebrating special moments since 1972. With our first 50 years behind us, our family-owned business, led by Brad Mucklow, is marking its sparkling next chapter with a contemporary new look that reflects its long-held belief that everyone deserves a little luxury.

At our core lies our Signature Collection of engagement and wedding rings, a celebration of love and commitment. Each piece, designed in house and meticulously crafted in our workshop, is a unique embodiment of your personal story, tailored to your individual preferences and desires.

Behind The Brand

What was the spark for beginning the brand?

Class A fittingly began with a love story. I was just 17 years old when my friend Julie’s father, Frank Hayter, offered me a job at his jewelry store – Class A Jewellers. About a year later, Julie and I, now life partners, embarked on our journey together as a couple. Eventually, I purchased the business in 1999, with a vision to offer Adelaide top-tier craftsmanship at accessible prices. Our journey has evolved to crafting our own in-house designed collections and bespoke pieces to commemorate milestone moments. Today, with three of our four sons actively involved in the business, our commitment remains unwavering. With our re-branding and new landmark showroom in its final stages, our new look perfectly embodies who we are today; a welcoming, family-run business offering a truly exceptional in-store experience that brings a little luxury into the lives of all who pass through our doors.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Our aesthetic embodies the concept of modern heirlooms, where every piece we create is crafted to become a cherished forever symbol. Our designs blend timeless elegance with contemporary. We take pride in our relaxed approach to luxury, believing that fine jewelry should be both exquisite and accessible to all.

What inspires you creatively?

I find a lot of creative inspiration when I travel. Exploring various jewelry traditions and trends worldwide always sparks new ideas for me, especially when I get the opportunity to see rich colored gemstones and jaw-dropping diamonds. Additionally, I’m fortunate to lead a vibrant, young team whose fresh perspectives continually inspire me.

What advice can you give to couples when shopping for their engagement ring?

When it comes to shopping for your engagement ring, my advice is rooted in three key pillars – quality, reputation and value. Firstly, I would prioritize quality. Look for a ring that will stand the test of time in terms of craftsmanship and durability. Secondly, consider the reputation of the retailer. Choosing a trusted jeweler known for their quality and personalised service will ensure you get the best. Lastly, aim for value with your investment. While it’s tempting to splurge on the highest-priced ring, I recommend striking a balance. I would say to choose a ring that offers exceptional quality without breaking the bank. In addition, I always encourage couples to try on a variety of styles and go ring shopping together before making any decisions. Exploring different designs allows you to discover what truly resonates with you, ensuring that your engagement ring reflects your unique style and personality.

What are you drawn to in wedding jewellery right now? What would you like to see less of in your industry?

In the realm of wedding jewelry, I’m currently drawn to meaningful remodels, particularly incorporating sentimental stones passed down from family members. By doing so, this not only adds a layer of emotional significance to the jewelry, but also honors the cherished memories and legacies of loved ones – particularly when worn on your special day.

On a similar note, I would like to see less jewelry sitting unworn in boxes. Investing in modernizing your pieces through a remodel is a meaningful way to ensure that your cherished pieces are not left neglected and forgotten. By breathing new life into these pieces, they can once again be enjoyed and appreciated for years to come.
