About Colony 29

Initially built in 1929 the charming estate was once home to John Burnham. In 2011 the property was restored to its original beauty and has since then been the premier wedding venue in Palm Springs. Colony 29 offers multiple venue spaces; each artfully designed and beautifully landscaped. Through the exclusive onsite residences, historical ambiance, and private event space Colony 29 offers clients the ultimate wedding weekend retreat.

Behind The Brand

What rooms/spaces do you have available for a wedding?

We have our ceremony lawn and reception lawn together with the following spaces; our Wishing Well Garden which is typically used for cocktail hour. The Palm Oasis is used for smaller events like rehearsal dinners or brunches and the Mountain Vista is for smaller weddings and or rehearsal dinners/ brunches.

 

How many people can each of these cater for?

Our two beautiful lawn areas (the ceremony lawn and Wishing Well Garden with reception lawn) both hold a maximum of 300 people as does our dance space. The Palm Oasis holds a capacity of 50 people seated and 80 standing. The Mountain Vista is a little more intimate for a group of 50-60.

 

Do you offer onsite accommodation?

Yes, we have six different units on the property, each boasting their own charm and unique floor plan as follows;

  • Blu Glo Bungalow; 1 Bed/1 Bath for two guests.
  • Villa Amalfi; 3 Beds/2 Bath for five guests.
  • Villa Rosa; 1 Bed/1 Pull-Out Sofa/2 Baths for four guests.
  • Burnham Studio; 2 Beds/2 Baths/1 Half Bath for four guests.
  • Montie’s Bunkhouse; 1 Bed/1 Bath for two guests.
  • Villa Bella Vista; 5 Beds/4 Baths for ten guests.

 

What additional features and facilities does your venue offer that couples may find useful?

Overnight accommodations for up to 27 guests, on-call concierge, event security, access to three pools, three spas, outdoor bathtubs, surround sound event speakers, uplighting throughout the property together with strung market lights in three venue spaces and barbecue and lounge areas to enjoy during your stay.

 

What type of couple would fall in love with your venue and why?

Colony 29 appeals to most all design aesthetics – we provide the space and the couple has the opportunity to design their dream day through florals, various boutique rentals, signage, etc.

Clients fall in love with the beautifully landscaped desert property because it provides them with the ultimate escape during their wedding weekend! The exclusivity and privacy appeals to clients wanting to get away from it all and simply relax at their own private oasis.
