About Danica Stamenic
Danica Stamenic is a jewelry designer and collector based in Los Angeles. Since 2017, Danica has built a devoted following for her carefully chosen vintage pieces and one-of-a-kind custom designs. In 2020, she launched her evolving collection of original work, through which she explores purity of form and materiality, bridging timelessness and modernity.
Working with ethically sourced or antique stones and recycled fine metals, these deeply intentional pieces feel like natural extensions of the human body. Each piece is designed and produced locally in Los Angeles, with Danica hand carving most pieces herself.
Behind The Brand
What was the spark for beginning your brand?
I developed an interest in wax carving a few years into running my business (which was, at that point, focused around modernist vintage jewelry) and it instantly unlocked something in my brain. The process of carving wax allows for spontaneous channeling and designing in a way that is so tactile and meditative. Jewelry is all about weight, texture, the feel on the hand or against the neck. Working as a wax carver allowed me to create the rings that I wanted to feel, not just see.
How would you describe your aesthetic?
Inviting, unbothered, uncomplicated.
What inspires you creatively?
I’m so inspired by strangers and their adornments. The way a woman at a restaurant gestures with her hands to her friends, a butcher’s pinky ring as he hands me a sandwich. I’m always drawing inspiration from architecture, and sculpture, as well – particularly land art. And rocks, of course!
What advice can you give to couples when shopping for their engagement ring?
Think first and foremost about how you want a ring to feel on your finger, and to make you feel!
What are you drawn to in wedding jewelry right now? What would you like to see less of in your industry?
I’m super drawn to signet shapes and more masculine motifs in engagement rings, set with antique diamonds and pleasing hunks of gold. In general, I would love to see less focus on market trends and more fearless exploration. That said, there are so many incredible art jewelers carving their own path. I’m forever in awe of my cohort.
Editor’s Notes
Why we love it…
Danica Stamenic approaches jewelry as sculpture—pieces shaped to be worn, handled, lived with. Her designs feel elemental: heavy with intention, quiet in form, sensitive to the way metal rests against skin. Working with antique stones and recycled metals, she builds a language around touch and permanence, where each curve, line, and texture invites closer attention.
Hand-carved in Los Angeles, her collections move effortlessly between eras, bridging the primal and the polished with a clarity that feels both fearless and enduring.
For the couple…
For those who see jewelry as an extension of the body rather than an accessory to it. Danica’s work favors weight over ornament, substance over spectacle—rings that ground you, pieces that feel unearthed rather than manufactured. Ideal for couples drawn to raw beauty and lasting form, her designs speak not to passing trends but to a deeper sense of belonging—something shaped by time, and meant to stay.
