Behind The Brand

What draws you to wedding photography?

It’s been over a decade since our first wedding, and we’re thrilled to say that weddings continue to excite and fulfill us. We love being a part of these special days, getting to know the happiest of couples, the most nervous ones. We’re passionate about capturing the emotion in their grandparents’ eyes, the sheer joy of their families, the fun moments with their friends. Above all, it’s always an honor to witness the love that two people can profess to each other and to do it from so close, maybe closer than their guests. More often than not, we find ourselves smiling behind the camera, surrounded by good vibes. It’s a thrill to think that their children, grandchildren, and future generations will be able to see and feel the love that we captured on their special day. That our work will only grow on importance for their family, just as the precious photos of our parents and grandparents have done.

How would you describe your photography style?

Although our roots are in fashion, cinema is a constant source of inspiration for us. We describe our style as European, a natural and unpretentious approach to photography that seeks to excite, inspire, and touch the viewer’s emotions. With a strong aesthetic vision and a focus on storytelling, each of our images is a unique story in itself. Our work blends minimalism and Baroque, disorder and chaos, elegance and spontaneity to create images that achieve to be both timeless and spontaneous. We love to have fun with photography, to experiment, and to search for new angles and points of view. Our goal is to create memories that will last a lifetime. We are passionate about film photography for these very reasons: it never fails to feel true and eternal.

Our top priority is to make our clients feel comfortable and secure, knowing that we will be there to capture every moment of their special day. We believe that the key to great photography is to make our clients feel at ease and to capture the beauty of the simple moments that make up their special day.

What inspires you creatively?

As we mentioned earlier, we try to find our inspiration outside the world of weddings: in fashion photography, cinema, art, music, fanzines and traveling. We are inspired by so many different things. By Sofia Coppola, Vogue Portugal, Rosalía, Roger Deakins, Cartier Bresson and his decisive moment, Paolo Sorrentino, Sorolla, Canada’s and Taylor Swift’s music videos, and Cecilie Bahnsen.

What is it that makes an image magical?

A beautiful light, a spontaneous hug, a stolen tear, a joyful laugh, an artistic composition, the movement of dancing without a care… These are the moments that we live for. We believe that our main value lies in capturing the beauty of simplicity, being the eye that sees what others overlook, and making you feel so comfortable that you forget the camera is even there. We want to capture the moments that make your heart skip a beat, the moments that you’ll remember for a lifetime. We achieve to tell unique stories in a way that feels natural and unpretentious. We believe that great photography is about more than just taking pictures – it’s about capturing the essence of who you are and what you love.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

Connecting with your photographer makes all the difference. Feeling comfortable in front of them, like you’re with a friend and not a vendor, is key. It’s important that their photographic style fits perfectly with what you’re looking for, and that you always ask to see complete wedding galleries. The work of a photographer is so much more than what you can find on a blog or Instagram. We feel incredibly fortunate when our couples say, ‘I trust you, please do what you do best and ask for anything you need.’, and we love feeling like a positive part of your day. We wouldn’t want to be seen as the homework of your wedding! So our advice, for photography and everything else about your wedding, is this: choose each vendor carefully, explain what you’re looking for and, after you take the decision, forget about it and trust them completely. We won’t let you down!

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

Natural light is our favourite tool, and a beautiful sunset is all we need to feel inspired. We also love to explore the architecture and history of different locations, from palaces to farmhouses to charming villas. We can envision a long table full of candles where people laugh, toast and dance the night away. These are the moments that we live for, and we’re passionate about capturing them in all their spontaneous glory.

Editor’s Notes

Why we love Días de Vino y Rosas…

Boldy cinematic, rich with emotive detail and spilling with the kind of classic romance you yearn for in wedding photography, Días de Vino y Rosas are powerful storytellers. True photojournalists at heart, they’re so personally entwined in their work, truly, authentically, present and moved by what they’re capturing. And it shows.

For the couple…

For lovers of old cinema, romanced by classicism who want wedding photographers who notice it all – the big moments, as well as the quiet & seemingly invisible ones, that speak even louder. Photographers that love their work, who (truly!) are lit up by telling palpable love stories.
