About Diego del Río

At Diego del Río we have devoted the past ten years to creating unique moments for couples on their special day, combining expertise and a wealth of landscapes, flavors and locations. We fulfill our clients' dreams and visions, crafting spectacular backdrops for their celebrations. We are honored to be a part of so many lasting memories of the day our clients' began a life together. We also publish a growing series of books showcasing the talents of Mexican wedding planners from across the country.

Behind the Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

From a young age, I was always drawn to interior design and soon realized I could translate this sensibility to weddings. Each event provides the opportunity to create an immersive atmosphere that includes luxurious floral arrangements, decorative aerial accents and bespoke table styling.

What services do you offer couples?

Full service event design, planning and management.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

As a wedding planner, I strive to be the perfect balance—not too forced but also not too silly—so the overall effect does not look too produced.

I base my work on three guiding principles: adapting the project to the couple’s personality, taking full advantage of the venue and carefully considering the time of the year.

As a planner or stylist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

Both Italian and British trends are really interesting, as well as monochromatic designs and tailor-made events.

What would you like to see less of?

Disorganized designs that lack a cohesive identity.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

In Mexico we have the saying “zapatero a sus zapatos” (every shoemaker to his shoe). I like this saying because it is very true; as a brand you have to build an expert team of highly specialized suppliers, and my tip to couples is to only put their wedding in the hands of an experienced wedding planner.
