What draws you to wedding photography?

What draws me to wedding photography is the unique blend of artistry and storytelling that comes with capturing one of the most significant days in a couple’s life. Each wedding is a collection of fleeting, unrepeatable moments filled with raw emotions, vibrant details, and the genuine expressions of love and joy shared not only by the couple but also by their families and friends.

My passion for documentary photography allows me to capture these moments as they naturally unfold, preserving the authentic essence of the day. At the same time, my editorial touch adds an element of elegance and creativity, elevating ordinary moments into memorable, timeless pieces of art. This combination enables me to tell a comprehensive story of the day, filled with both the grand, sweeping moments and the intimate, nuanced details.

How would you describe your photography style?

My photography style is a refined blend of fine art with a foundation in documentary and editorial techniques, all finished with a classic editing style. This means I capture the day as it naturally unfolds, focusing on genuine, unscripted moments that tell the unique story of each wedding. However, through an editorial lens, I also create moments of composed beauty that echo the timeless elegance found in traditional fine art.

My editing style is classic, aiming to produce images that are timeless and true to life. I focus on enhancing the natural beauty of the moment rather than overwhelming it with trendy filters or effects. This ensures that the photos remain as relevant and poignant in decades to come as they are today.

What inspires you creatively?

My creative inspiration comes from a blend of classic art, the natural world, the unique stories of the couples I work with, and contemporary visual arts. The emotional depth of historical art movements, the organic beauty of nature, and the personal narratives of love and interaction all fuel my artistic vision.

What is it that makes an image magical?

An image becomes magical when it not only captures a moment but also tells a story and evokes emotion. It’s about finding the perfect balance between documentary and editorial styles, where the authenticity and spontaneity of the moment are enhanced by a touch of artistry. It’s the raw, unguarded expressions, the play of light and shadow, and the composition that draws the viewer in, making them feel as if they are part of that moment. A magical image is one that is timeless, stirring up memories and emotions every time it’s viewed, transporting the observer back to that very moment captured. It’s about the depth, the connection, and the story that unfolds within a single frame, making each image unique and deeply personal.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

When selecting a wedding photographer, it’s crucial for couples to first understand the style of photography that resonates most with them. Since my approach blends documentary and editorial styles, I always encourage couples to look for a photographer whose portfolio not only excites them but also reflects the essence of how they envision their day being captured. It’s about finding someone whose work tells a story in a way that speaks to you personally.
