About Earth House

The soulful beauty and elegant aesthetic of this rammed earth venue will capture your heart. EarthHouse is a unique wedding and event space set high above the Byron Bay hinterland. Nestled in the picturesque hills of the North Coast of New South Wales, EarthHouse offers spectacular views and tranquil gardens. Its stunning, Mediterranean-inspired building has been designed as the perfect blank canvas for a dream wedding. Marry beneath the branches of the 100-year-old fig tree; mingle with family and friends on the sweeping lawns; celebrate on the verandah as the sun sets across the valley, and dine under the candlelit beams of the venue’s soaring, cathedral ceiling. EarthHouse provides couples with their own, private paradise in the centre of one of the world’s most beautiful, coastal destinations.

Behind The Brand

Your best piece of advice for event planning?

Less is more.

What was the spark for Earth House? Where did the story begin?

EarthHouse was conceived by my mother and father when they built the original rammed earth house and accommodation on the property. I followed the same design aesthetic as my parents when building the rammed earth wedding venue. It’s a philosophy of tasteful simplicity, inspired by and sympathetic to the natural environment, and sensitive to the earth from which the venue was built.
EarthHouse is an extremely appropriate name and the buildings speak for themselves.

What inspires you creatively?

Living in the Northern Rivers is inspiring because there are so many clever and creative people and businesses in the area.

Most memorable place you’ve travelled?

I was lucky enough to work on a super yacht for 10 years, based primarily in Europe, so this is a very tough question. Travelling up the north west coast of Norway and exploring its amazing fjords; cruising into Venice and tying up at the mouth of the Grand Canal; anchoring in the deep waters off Santorini, and cruising the shallow waters of the Bahamas were all equally spectacular.

On a typical weekend we’ll find you?

I’m a very hands-on venue owner and attend all EarthHouse events from beginning to end, so most weekends I’m attending weddings. On other weekends, I regularly meet with couples who are considering EarthHouse for their big day to show them the beautiful grounds and buildings and answer any questions they may have. I also like to to squeeze in a little fishing or gardening if time permits.
