About Edward Taylor Photography
Edward has spent a decade photographing weddings alongside developing a career in fashion and advertising. This has led to a contemporary, less conventional style with an aim of authentically documenting each couples story with a refined, detail led aesthetic made across a range of modern and vintage formats. Edwards focus is in composing a collection of honest, intimate depictions of quiet romance and joy across the day, transforming them into timeless works of art that serve as cherished keepsakes.
Behind The Brand
What draws you to wedding photography?
So much. Its become an umbrella for everything I wanted to produce in my work. Being able to bring together an interest in design, fashion and an honest documentary style of photography into a service that can be used to document a couples story and wedding day has been immensely fulfilling. The days can also be so fleeting and momentary at times, I love that these images will potentially have a generational pertinence and compound over time.
How would you describe your photography style?
Honest, nostalgic, detail led.
What inspires you creatively?
Maybe too many things. Often I can find I’m inspired by so many different things, and these things can sometimes be quite opposing in the way they might look or feel, that it can be hard to develop a curated style that’s cohesive in what will be delivered and fulfils me over the long term. The long term being the key factor as this is always changing, which I suppose is fine. These things are often found in other photography but also music, film, design and landscapes.
What is it that makes an image magical?
Anything that’s feel transportive. But I think what makes an image special or magical to an individual or couple can change significantly through stages across a lifetime, I try to keep this in mind when photographing a day. Regarding how an image feels, If I look at what I’m repeatedly drawn to, that has remained consistent over time, it’s often a particular mood and atmosphere across any subject matter. Normally slow, quiet feeling and quite observational.
What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?
Theres so many of us. Do your research, look outside your local area and make sure you feel strongly connected to their visual language and can feel confident this will represent you and your plans in a way you are robustly content with. Following this, video call or meet in person where possible and make sure you are aligned as people and how you want to feel on the day. Discuss what’s needed from them in order to deliver what you see. Then, 100% trust them, their vision, their editing, their experience and when the day comes focus on being as present as possible.
Your dream location to shoot a wedding?
Honestly, the days I’ve always felt most connected to have always been because of the people and atmosphere more so than the location.
Editor’s Notes
Why we love it…
There’s a softness to Edward Taylor’s work—an emotive depth that echoes through time. With a background in fashion and editorial photography, his style melds nostalgia with a refined sense of design. Time and time again, we’re drawn to his detail-rich frames and ability to distill an entire atmosphere into a single image.
For the couple…
Who values nuance over novelty, mood over spectacle. For couples longing for images that are intimate, soulful, and gently composed, Edward’s approach is observational, never intrusive, with a focus on creating a body of work that will only grow in meaning over time.
