What draws you to wedding photography?
I’m a social butterfly at heart, and there’s nothing I love more than being surrounded by wonderful people, immersing myself in their stories, and capturing their essence in the most beautiful way possible. Weddings are such joyous occasions, and I always leave feeling energized and fulfilled. I’ve had a fascination with bridal aesthetics since I was a child. My inspiration sparked from Elizabeth James in the Parent Trap and my love for capturing the magic of weddings has only deepened with each event I’ve documented.
How would you describe your photography style?
My style is true to color with a warm glow like it came out of a magazine. I prioritize capturing details and those candid, in-between moments over posed shots. It’s a blend of chic, glamour, elegance, and timelessness. I’m always exploring new techniques and experimenting with creative ways to enhance my style, often incorporating flash to add an extra layer of depth and sophistication.
What inspires you creatively?
I draw inspiration from a multitude of sources – from the raw beauty of emotions to the interplay of light and shadow, intricate details, and the world of fashion. Each wedding is a unique canvas, and I find endless creative possibilities in the personalities of the couple, the venue, and the overall atmosphere of the day. I approach each wedding with an open mind and a keen eye, allowing the organic flow of moments to guide my lens.
What is it that makes an image magical?
For me, it’s those in-between moments that truly make an image magical. It’s when the couple forgets about the camera and simply focuses on each other – a tender glance, a shared laugh, or a gentle touch. Those are the moments that capture the true essence of love and create timeless, unforgettable images.
What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?
I always encourage couples to look beyond just a photographer’s portfolio. While stunning images are important, it’s equally crucial to consider how well you connect with the photographer and how they communicate with you. Look at full galleries of their work to get a sense of their consistency and style, and make sure you feel comfortable and confident with them capturing your special day!
Your dream location to shoot a wedding?
I’m drawn to elegant and charming venues with rich history and beautiful details. Places like Lake Como, the breathtaking Villa Aurelia in Rome, or any location with a captivating old building steeped in character would be a dream come true for me. There’s something about those timeless settings that perfectly complement the romance of a wedding day.
