About Frida's Field

Frida’s Field is a place to revel in the beauty of nature. An idyllic 120-acre eco-farm with stunning views of lush pasture and rolling green hills. The variety of spaces around the property will create a memorable journey over the course of a wedding day. A purpose-built timber barn designed to maximise the views offers a grand and elegant space with neutral colours and natural textures. It has a high vaulted ceiling, exposed wooden trusses, recycled-brick fireplace, and large covered verandah. A spacious kitchen with two substantial counters ensures effortless catering and drinks service. Adjoining the barn is a large lawn terrace where you can watch the sunset over the surrounding orchards.

Photo opportunities abound, with your choice of several majestic ceremony trees, fields that capture “golden hour” perfectly, textural sheds, and a cute cottage that was featured on the cover of Country Style Magazine.  Just 10 minutes from Bangalow and 25 minutes from Byron, it’s a picturesque drive along main roads the whole way.  Having a wedding here supports us to regenerate our land by farming with trees to sequester carbon, build soil health and foster biodiversity.  To recognise this, for every wedding at Frida’s Field we plant a tree on our farm which you can visit over the years.

Behind The Brand

What rooms/spaces do you have available for a wedding?

A large custom-built timber barn with spacious lawn terrace, stunning hinterland views and several beautiful ceremony spots to choose from. Our property also has a gorgeous little rustic cottage with a magnificent fig tree that was featured on the cover of Country Style Magazine.

How many people can each of these cater for?

The Barn can cater for 150 guests. The Cottage can be used for accommodation, photoshoots and a space for the bride to get ready, as well as catering for an elopement of up to 15 guests.

Do you offer onsite accommodation?

Accommodation for couples is available in The Cottage. Featured on the cover of Country Style Magazine, The Cottage is a recently renovated 1890s coach house, with a stunning cathedral ceiling, rough-hewn exposed beams, and polished floorboards. A magnificent two meter-square northeast-facing window fills the open-planned space with natural light and sweeping countryside views. Its rustic charm is enhanced with quality fittings and modern conveniences. It is beautifully appointed with a mix of antiques and modern pieces, plus luxury bedding, linen and towels.

What additional features and facilities does your venue offer that couples may find useful?

  • A large commercial kitchen with a cold room and two substantial serving counters ensuring effortless catering and drinks service.
  • In-house catering packages available from our incredible chef Daniel Medcalf (Icebergs in Bondi, The Dolphin Hotel in Surry Hills, and The Slow in Bali).
  • Outdoor dining on the spacious lawn terrace if desired.
  • 6 different ceremony spots to choose from and a wide variety of beautiful photo locations around the farm.
  • A stunning recycled brick fireplace.
  • Great, all-weather venue – stunning views even on a rainy day and back-up ceremony location on the large covered verandah.
  • For every wedding at Frida’s Field, we plant a tree on our farm that couples can visit over the years.

What type of couple would fall in love with your venue and why?

Couples who love being surrounded by stunning natural beauty – lush green fields, rolling orchard-lined hills, towering trees with bending limbs. Couples who dream of a venue that is rustic but luxurious, grand and elegant yet simple and confident, with enough natural textures to have some warmth and personality but neutral enough to lend itself to any type of styling. Couples who love the idea of using their wedding to help support a little farm with a big dream – to produce delicious, wholesome food that we can share directly with others while farming with trees to sequester carbon, build soil health and foster biodiversity.
