As a planner or stylist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?
I’m currently captivated by the revival of classic elegance within the realm of wedding design. Amidst the ever-evolving trends, there’s a return to timeless elements like delicate color schemes, ethereal florals, refined architectural motifs, and exquisite stationery. The enduring allure of these classic wedding aesthetics lies in their inherent beauty, simplicity, and sophistication. What excites me most is witnessing how couples infuse their unique personalities and perspectives into these timeless traditions, breathing new life into age-old elegance with fresh and innovative interpretations.
What would you like to see less of?
Weddings are deeply personal celebrations, and no two couples are alike. I’d like to see less pressure on couples to conform to unrealistic standards of perfection and more encouragement for them to embrace their unique visions and priorities. Every wedding should reflect the personalities and values of the couple, rather than striving for an unattainable ideal. Rather than prioritizing opulence and grandeur, I believe weddings should center around genuine connections, heartfelt exchanges, and the celebration of love in its purest form. By shifting away from excessive extravagance, we can create weddings that are not only visually stunning but also deeply personal and emotionally resonant for the couple and their guests.
With the rise of social media and wedding blogs, there can be a tendency for weddings to start feeling formulaic, with couples feeling pressured to replicate trends they see online. I’d like to see less emphasis on following trends and more focus on creating authentic and meaningful experiences that truly resonate with each couple.
A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?
Personalization is truly at the heart of what we do. Every couple brings their own unique story, style, and vision to the table, and it’s our job to bring that to life in the most meaningful way possible. Whether it’s incorporating elements from their cultural background, showcasing their favorite hobbies, or simply infusing the day with small touches that reflect who they are as individuals, personalization adds a layer of authenticity and intimacy to the celebration that can’t be replicated. Ultimately, it’s about creating an experience that feels tailor-made for the couple and leaves a lasting impression on both them and their guests.
Also, communication is absolutely key, and it starts from the moment we first meet the couple. We make it a priority to really listen to their needs, preferences, and concerns, so we can tailor our approach accordingly. Throughout the planning process, we maintain regular check-ins, whether it’s through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, or emails, to keep everyone on the same page and address any questions or changes that may arise. Additionally, we ensure that all parties involved, from the couple to the vendors, are kept informed and involved every step of the way.
