Established seven years ago by a former stylist who recognized a lack of fresh, fashion-forward more trend oriented options in the local bridal market, Hera was born out of a desire to bring something new – something stylish, minimal and effortlessly cool – to Swiss brides.

Behind The Brand

What was the spark for beginning your brand?

I started my bridal boutique in Zurich seven years ago, after realizing there was a real gap in the market. At the time, I was working as a stylist and noticed that most bridal shops in the city felt outdated and overly traditional. I remember thinking, “If I were getting married right now, there’s no place I’d actually want to buy my dress.” That was the moment. I wanted to create a space that felt fresh, fashion-forward, and inspiring — a boutique that reflects the style and individuality of today’s modern bride.

What inspires you creatively?

I draw a lot of inspiration from fashion, art, and the women I meet every day. Our brides are incredibly diverse — in style, in background, in story — and I find that so motivating. I also love traveling and soaking up different cultures and aesthetics. Sometimes it’s a gallery, sometimes a café in a new city, or just walking through Zurich and seeing what people are wearing. Inspiration is everywhere if you’re paying attention.

A favorite quote or piece of advice that inspires your creative work?

“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” — Rachel Zoe. It’s such a simple truth, and it resonates especially in bridal. The right dress should feel like you — not like you’re wearing someone else’s idea of a bride.

What advice can you give to brides when shopping for their dress?

Be open-minded, but trust your instincts. Don’t shop for anyone else’s expectations — not your mother’s, not your friends’. This is your moment, and your dress should feel effortless and right for you. Also: Don’t overthink it. The best choice is often the one that made you smile the biggest.

What are you drawn to in bridal right now? And what would you love to see less of?

I love that bridal is becoming more fashion-conscious — we’re seeing cleaner lines, cooler silhouettes, and a shift away from the “princess” vibe. Brides are embracing their personal style more than ever, and I’m here for it. What I’d love to see less of? The pressure to follow trends or fit into a mold. The modern bride is confident, unique, and ready to break rules — and that’s the energy we celebrate at our boutique.
