About Hinterland House

Experience the history and grandeur of a bygone era...Hinterland House is a beautifully restored 1906 mansion, hidden just one minute from Bangalow and 10 minutes from central Byron Bay. 

This stunning heritage-listed homestead offers uninterrupted hinterland views and is open for elopements and weddings of up to 150 guests. Nestled amongst a 20-acre macadamia plantation, the homestead boasts vine-covered walls, handcrafted stone masonry, grand french chandeliers, leadlight windows and large wrap around verandahs, creating the ultimate in scenic backdrops for an exclusive and luxurious celebration. 

Guests will be greeted by a winding palm tree-lined driveway, as they make their way up to the hilltop venue. The picturesque property offers a variety of ceremony locations and lush manicured gardens for outdoor receptions and photography. Those looking for on-site accommodation are welcome to stay in the sprawling homestead and its two adjoining cottages, sleeping up to 16 guests.

What rooms/spaces do you have available for a wedding?

Nestled amid a macadamia plantation with uninterrupted hinterland views, Hinterland House wedding guests will enjoy private, luxurious accommodation for up to 16 house guests. Wide wraparound verandas provide plenty of space for entertaining, whilst 14ft ceilings, french chandeliers, multiple fireplaces, antiques and 1906 leadlight windows display the elegance and grandeur of the estate. The hinterland deck, marquee lawn, ceremony lawn, poinsettia lawn, pool, fire pit and 20 acres of manicured grounds are designed to provide ample styling space to stage their perfect aesthetic. How many people can each of these cater for?

From micro weddings to larger events, Hinterland House can host up to 140+ guests. We can also accommodate up to 16 guests within the Four-Bedroom Manor House and 2 x Two-Bedroom cottages.

 

Do you offer onsite accommodation?

We do! In fact, Hinterland House is renowned for its private, luxurious and extensive space, with most of our couples staying at least 4-7 days surrounding their event to enjoy the estate with up to 18 of their closest friends and family.
