Honeymoon Studios is a Naarm/Melbourne-based occasional wear brand created as an alternative to the traditional wedding scene. Honeymoon styles are perfect for lovers who might spill some wine, dance their dress to filth, or sneak a cheeky cig in their veil – it’s all about having fun and embracing the messy side of love.
Behind The Brand
What was the spark for beginning the brand?
Back in 2020, I went through the struggle of finding my own wedding look. I wanted to wear something laid-back, modern, and cool, but kept running into the same old tired options. In the end, I made my own wedding dress and Honeymoon was born! I wanted to create lasting legacies—future heirlooms and beautiful memories that people can cherish for a lifetime, and I take that responsibility seriously.
Every piece that we create is hand-cut and sewn in our studio in Naarm/Melbourne, with sustainability at the heart of everything we do. We re-use leftover fabric for accessories and offer over-dyeing services to enable our brides to re-wear their favourite piece long after their wedding day.
I wanted to create flexible designs that are available in diverse sizing and allow for customisation and interchangeability, ensuring outfits can evolve with our customers over time.
What inspires you creatively?
Blending nostalgic looks from the ’90s with our signature ’70s aesthetic embody the playful and relaxed spirit of Honeymoon.
A favourite quote or piece of advice that inspires your creative work?
Measure twice cut once.
What advice can you give to brides when shopping for their dress?
Have fun! If you are doing multiple fittings – Bring your hype girls – only bring people who lift you up and bring the vibe – and don’t bring anyone that’s too opinionated.
What are you drawn to in bridal right now?
Typically Honeymoon – Florals – never can get enough.
