What was the initial spark for the property and how did it all begin?

The story of Villa Honegg began in 1905 with a dream. Emil Durrer, a skilled carpenter with a passion for hospitality, acquired 30,000 square meters of land at one of the most beautiful locations in Switzerland. Inspired by his experience in large foreign hotels, he planned and built Hotel Honegg himself – without architects. In 1906, the hotel opened with 72 guest beds. Durrer’s vision was to create an exclusive refuge that would offer guests from around the world an unforgettable stay with breathtaking views.

Exclusive and elegant, Villa Honegg offers an exceptional setting for a destination wedding. For celebrations with more than 35 guests, the entire hotel can be reserved exclusively – ensuring complete privacy and a celebration tailored entirely to your vision. Whatever the weather or your personal preferences, we’re committed to delivering a seamless experience for your day.

Ceremony

Our most requested ceremony location is the meadow – an open, scenic spot that captures the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Should weather conditions be uncertain the day before, we prepare alternative setups: the terrace (under a sail canopy) can accommodate light rain and winds under 35 km/h. For less favorable weather, the covered veranda or salon offer elegant indoor options. In rare circumstances, the lobby or restaurant may also serve as ceremony spaces.

Dinner

Dinner can take place on our panoramic terrace beneath the open sky, or inside our refined restaurant.

Party

Your celebration can continue across a variety of spaces, depending on preferences and weather. The terrace, covered veranda, and salon all provide beautiful settings, while the spa area offers a more playful and atmospheric option for the party. With exclusive use of the hotel, festivities can continue until 3 AM, with the possibility of extending for an additional hourly fee – ensuring your celebration unfolds at its own pace.

How many guests can you cater for?

• Our restaurant comfortably accommodates up to 60 guests with our own furniture.
• For up to 70 guests, additional external furniture allows for expanded seating within the restaurant.
• For larger wedding parties, exceeding 70 guests, we collaborate with a trusted partner to set up an elegant tent on our terrace. Depending on the seating arrangement, this option can accommodate up to 100 guests for dining and celebration.
• Please note that for such a large number of guests, all furniture and tableware will be sourced from our external partner, and the menu selection should be carefully considered to ensure a seamless dining experience.
