About Katkim

KATKIM is a blend of design, quality, and sustainability that is fused in every piece. Sustainability is one of the core pillars upon which the brand was founded. It’s a crucial guideline for the design and development of our pieces, which are created with respect for the communities and environment that surrounds us.

Every piece of KATKIM is handmade in Los Angeles, California, where the entire production process is overshadowed from start to finished product. In a world of mass production, each of our pieces are handmade by artisans and we are dedicated to supporting our local community businesses. All of our diamonds are conflict-free that adhere to The Kimberly Process and we use recycled gold whenever possible. We are a proud member of Ethical Metalsmiths and are committed to remaining transparent in our processes and selections as we seek to continually improve our overall impact on our planet. 

Behind The Brand

Where are your gemstones and diamonds sourced from?

We work with a few trusted ethical suppliers in Los Angeles and New York. The diamonds are primarily sourced from mines in Canada and we ensure all our suppliers adhere to the Kimberley Process. We also are happy to use lab-created diamonds whenever our clients wish to.

Do you offer a custom design service? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?

We do offer custom bespoke design services and love creating unique and special pieces for our clients! Our bespoke process from start to finish typically takes about 4-6 weeks.

What is your most popular piece?

Our Marquise Crescendo ring and our Cosma Diamond ring are our most popular pieces. They are both great modern styles that many of our clients navigate towards. We love these styles because they highlight the diamonds in such a unique way.

What advice would you give to a couple looking for their wedding jewelry?

We recommend shopping in a way that feels special and that reflects your bond as a couple. We often work with couples who come to us together to shop for their engagement ring, as well as with couples who prefer the ring to stay as a surprise. Both options are wonderful experiences, but as each couple is different so is the experience of shopping for an engagement ring!

What tips do you have for couples to care for their jewelry?

For at-home cleaning, we recommend filling a small bowl with warm water and adding in a few drops of dishwashing soap. You can soak your jewelry in there for about 5-10 minutes. Once it’s had its bath, you can take a soft toothbrush to remove any residue and rinse off any excess soap under warm water. Dry your ring with a soft cloth to prevent any scratching. I also use the steam wand on my espresso machine and it works wonders!
