What was the initial spark for the property and how did it all begin?

The origins of Kona Village trace back to 1965 when Johnno and Helen Jackson arrived at the deserted shores of Kaʻūpūlehu after sailing much of the South Pacific on their schooner. Inspired by the area’s natural beauty and rich history, they established the Kona Village Resort, creating traditions that are still remembered and revered to this day.

What spaces do you offer for a wedding or event?

Kona Village offers over 40,000 square feet of outdoor venue space, providing an idyllic setting for significant events. The resort features several outdoor venues ideal for events and celebrations.

How many guests can you cater for?

The resort can accommodate events ranging from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations. For instance, the Hale Hoʻokipa Lūʻau & Event Grounds can host up to 250 guests for receptions and 200 for dining. Other venues like Kīpuka Nanea can accommodate up to 300 guests for receptions and 250 for dining.
