What draws you to wedding videography?

What draws us to wedding videography is our deep passion for cinema, inspired by the works of Sorrentino, Francis Ford Coppola, Terrence Malick, Fellini, and Billy Wilder. Weddings are like perfectly set movie scenes, —everything is beautifully styled in breathtaking locations. We’re captivated by the genuine emotions of the day and the challenge of weaving them into a narrative. Paying attention to the little details that often go unnoticed is essential to us, as we believe that if moments aren’t filmed, they are often forgotten. Over the years, we’ve come to deeply appreciate the value of preserving memories, whether it’s revisiting a father’s voice during the bridal speech or witnessing the tears of joy from loved ones as you walk down the aisle. To us, these details hold immense value over time.

How would you describe your videography style?

We would describe our videography style as natural and non-invasive. We focus on capturing candid, authentic moments that truly reflect the essence of the day. While we believe there should always be a place for a formal portrait, the majority of the wedding shoot should be centered around documenting genuine interactions and emotions as they unfold. We aim to create wedding videos that faithfully transmit what actually happened, avoiding trends and special effects in favor of intimate, timeless portrayals of the little details that make each celebration unique.

What inspires you creatively?

What inspires us creatively is the ability to blend influences from various artistic fields into wedding videography. While we constantly review the work of my peers for inspiration, we also draw from a broader spectrum—video creatives like Tyrone Lebon, Gabriel Moses, and Pantera, along with fashion photographers such as Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon, Henrik Purienne, and Sarah van Rij. We’re fascinated by the challenge of adapting these diverse visual styles to the wedding environment, aiming to add a distinctive reflection of both art and emotion to the couple’s storyline.

What is it that makes a film magical?

Without a doubt, what makes a film magical is authenticity. In today’s world, where wedding budgets are soaring and vendors often push the limits with extravagant ideas, it’s easy to lose sight of the true essence of the day. While elaborate settings and grand gestures can certainly add to the visual spectacle, the real enchantment comes from capturing the genuine emotions and connections that define the celebration.

Our aim is to authentically captures the essence of the day, allowing the couple to relive their wedding with the same emotions they felt in the moment. It’s about creating a genuine, intimate, and timeless memory that resonates with the couple’s unique story.

The most memorable wedding films are those that focus on the heartfelt moments—whether in a grand ballroom or an intimate garden. It’s about showcasing the couple’s true selves, their joy, and their love in its most natural form. When a film authentically reflects these emotions, it becomes more than just a record of the day; it transforms into a timeless narrative that resonates deeply every time it’s revisited. What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding videographer?

When selecting a wedding videographer, it’s essential to ensure that your artistic and visual visions align. Each videographer has their own unique style, and if your preferences don’t match, it can impact the final result. It’s important to communicate openly and share your ideas and inspirations to ensure a cohesive vision.

Effective collaboration often begins months before the wedding with discussions, sharing of ideas, and possibly pre-wedding shoots. This helps build trust and rapport, allowing you to feel comfortable with the person behind the camera. By fostering this connection and confidence beforehand, you can arrive on your wedding day knowing you’re in capable hands, allowing you to fully relax and savor every moment of your special day.

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

Having traveled to numerous breathtaking locations around the world, from the sunsets of Tuscany to the dramatic landscapes of Iceland and the vibrant streets of New Delhi, we’ve cherished every destination. Each place brings its own unique charm and atmosphere, which we thoroughly enjoy exploring in the days leading up to the wedding. Immersing ourselves in the local culture, sampling the cuisine, and filming the essence of the setting before the big day adds context to the final film. One dream location we’re looking forward to film is Brazil.
