About Les Fleurs de la Terre
Our atelier is devoted to home-grown and locally sourced, organically produced blooms, and fair trade imported roses. Every composition is a unique dance of color, light, and form.
Each project delivers a botanical adventure to our clients, representing their stories and aspirations.
As part of the global slow flower network, we believe passionately that season-specific, organically and ethically produced arrangements are the truest, most lovely, and most sustainable.
Every stem and bloom has its place, whether wild or cultivated. There is no hierarchy; there is only beauty.
Behind The Brand
What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?
A combination of working in the destination wedding industry and being horrified by the waste generated, followed by buying a property primarily because I fell in love with the land. The soil itself called to me in a powerful way. From that moment, I started to wonder if it could be possible to live off this small patch of land.
Starting with a few packets of seeds, I initially thought I would stay in the garden and simply sell to florists. However, I felt a disconnect between what I loved and considered beautiful about flowers and the demands of the industry. From my perspective, floristry itself felt quite removed from nature, and thus began my connection to the whole cycle, from seed to vase.
There is something so simple and magical about being able to wander into the garden from our atelier in search of that perfect wonky stem to provide the finishing touch to a composition.
What services do you offer couples?
Wedding and event flowers.
How would you describe your aesthetic?
Effortlessly wild, with a sense of place. Joyous and celebratory.
As a florist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?
Adventurous sculptural use of botanical materials, employed in both minimal and monumental ways. The potential of original color palettes to create unique moments.
Dramatic design that focuses on the interplay of texture and elements: the botanical, light, architectural context, fabric draping, etc.
What would you like to see less of?
Abuse of nature for the sake of fashion and capitalism, specifically poor working conditions for workers in ex-colonies, which is directly related to our desire for unseasonal blooms. Bleached and stabilized flowers and foliage, as well as fake flowers.
A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?
Take inspiration from the color palette of a favorite moment or place, not just from your screens—whether that’s a beach, a sunset, or your own mix of cultures—then allow your designer to weave these elements into something deeply connected to you.
Be adventurous; this is a celebration of life…
