About Maria Francesca Nitti Photography

Maria Francesca Nitti is an Italy-based editorial and wedding photographer. With a degree in Art History, her professional journey was set in motion by a profound fascination with cultivating emotional connections through her work. Her keen interests in cinema, fashion, and literature have contributed significantly to the ongoing development of her creative vision.

Her approach to wedding photography has evolved into a contemporary style, characterized by a focus on minimalism and evocative aesthetics. Rather than merely documenting events, her photographs transport her subjects into moments that feel genuine and deeply intimate.

Behind The Brand

What draws you to wedding photography?

I started shooting more than 10 years ago at friends’ weddings who trusted me and gave me the confidence to follow my passion. I can still remember all the sensations I felt – the honour and responsibility of being there. To me, shooting a wedding is not only about taking pictures, but more about the way the moments stirs me. This is why I can be so deeply inside the scene, following the unrepeatable step of two people who choose to share their intimacy with me.

How would you describe your photography style?

Documentary, soulful with an editorial flair. My way to portray modern romance is an artful blend of elegant and timeless aesthetic, experimentation, and genuine interactions. Exploring naturalism and human behaviour, I seek to capture the nuance of effortless beauty and honest intimacy, guiding each couple through a deeply personal experience.

What inspires you creatively?

I will never be grateful enough to my degree in art history which immediately helped me find compositional harmony, attention to detail, and a more exquisite perceptual color experience. Parallel to my classical path, I have always followed the contemporary vogue in cinema, fashion, and architecture. What inspires me the most though, is the people I meet and the human interconnections I cultivate. They are the foundations that nourish all the nuances of my vision.

What is it that makes an image magical?

I’ve long held the belief that a touch of magic resides within the very fabric of existence, and I deeply believe that we all have the sensitivity to feel it. When a photograph possesses that special magic, it defies the need for words or explanations. It becomes a magnificent enigma, a mysterious alchemy that exists in the realm of the unspoken and the incomplete. It seems suspended, caught in the delicate balance between the captured instant and the sensation that it lingers on, perpetually unfolding.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

Choosing the right photographer is arguably one of the most pivotal and cherished decisions a couple can make. It transcends the venue or floral arrangements because, without the adept eye to capture it all, something profound can be lost. It’s about connecting on a profound level and ngaging with your potential photographers with your heart leading the way. The key here is the connection and a shared vision. It’s through this synergy that the photographer can authentically tell your story, enabling you to revisit the intense emotions and the bond of togetherness that marked your special day.

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

I’m lucky to live in a such beautiful country like Italy that I never finish to discover. In particular, I’m fascinated to shoot in Sicily. I’m so attracted by the atmosphere of the islands, they convey me a higher sense of nature and human intertwining. Plenty of inspiration. Then I would like to explore more Europe, especially England, Provence and Spain.
