What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

The initial spark for Marigiulia Sella Weddings came from my passion for creating meaningful, once-in-a-lifetime celebrations that blend culture, beauty, and emotion. It all began in Mexico, where I spent five incredible years immersed in the world of destination weddings. I started my career planning romantic beach weddings in the Riviera Maya and magical jungle weddings in Tulum, falling in love with the art of designing experiences that truly reflect each couple’s love story. Upon returning to Italy, I wanted to bring that same sense of wonder, beauty, and personalization to weddings in iconic destinations like Lake Como, Tuscany, and the Amalfi Coast, while also offering my expertise for international celebrations in Spain, Portugal, and Mexico.

What services do you offer couples?

I offer full-service planning, design, and coordination for destination weddings, specializing in multi-day celebrations that provide a luxurious and memorable experience for couples and their guests. My services include everything from initial concept creation and vendor selection to seamless day-of coordination. I handle every detail, ensuring the planning process is enjoyable and stress-free, while designing stunning, personalized events that reflect the couple’s unique style. Additionally, I curate unforgettable guest experiences and design special events such as welcome dinners, boat trips, or farewell brunches, all tailored to the couple’s vision. Above all, I truly advocate for my couples, always striving for the best for them. Transparency and open communication are key to our relationship, ensuring that every decision is aligned with their vision and expectations, making the entire journey as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

My aesthetic is a blend of timeless elegance and modern, artistic design. I love curating spaces that feel luxurious yet warm, refined yet full of personality. Every element is thoughtfully considered, from elegant floral installations and sophisticated tablescapes to unique touches that make the event feel deeply personal. I’m drawn to the beauty of natural settings, using them as a canvas to highlight a couple’s story with creativity and style. My goal is always to create experiences that leave a lasting impression, feeling both effortlessly beautiful and captivating.

As a planner or stylist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

Right now, I’m inspired by the shift towards more immersive and experience-driven weddings. Couples are prioritizing meaningful experiences for themselves and their guests, from multi-day celebrations that explore the culture and beauty of their chosen destination to thoughtfully curated design elements that tell a story. I’m also inspired by unique, modern floral arrangements and the use of unexpected color palettes that make a statement while still feeling timeless.

What would you like to see less of?

I’d love to see less emphasis on trends that don’t reflect a couple’s true style. It’s easy to get swept up in what’s popular, but I believe weddings should be deeply personal and authentic. I’d also like to see less rigidity in design – more couples should feel empowered to step outside traditional expectations and embrace their creativity to make their celebration truly theirs.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

First, invest in vendors whose work you truly love and trust. Surrounding yourself with a talented team who understands your vision makes the entire planning experience more enjoyable and ensures the best results. Second, focus on creating an experience that feels authentic to you as a couple. Don’t be afraid to incorporate elements that are meaningful or special, even if they’re unconventional. Your guests will remember the moments that reflect your unique story, so embrace what feels true to who you are. Lastly, keep in mind that the wedding day will go by quickly, so build in time to step away and take in the magic of the moment together.
