Behind the Brand

What draws you to wedding photography?

The celebration of love and the joy of a couple on their wedding day and the fact that my images are one of the only things they will hold onto forever to. Wedding photography is one of the most important decisions as we get to create for couples one of the most meaningful memories in their life.

How would you describe your photography style?

Timeless. Muir Weddings style is one which looks just as good today as it will in 50 years.

What inspires you creatively?

I create things as I see them unfold in front of me, I don’t overthink what I am going to do because every wedding has a new venue, garden, weather, time, etc. For me each wedding is an opportunity to create something new and beautiful. Both of my late grandmothers were artists, and they inspire me every day.

What is it that makes an image magical?

An image that will be loved for many years to come. A magical image is one that is timeless and will live on in a couple’s memory forever.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

Be picky! There are many photographers now and I often see couple’s making the decision based on budget. However, photography is one of the only things you keep. You can’t repeat the day so consider in advance how much you want to invest and how important photography is and find someone you connect with. Get to know your photographer, ask them lots of questions and make sure they are the right fit for you and your partner (not just the right fit for your budget!).

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

There are too many to choose. Shooting in Puglia, Italy was a dream followed by sundrenched villas in Bali. I love anywhere with a unique atmosphere, somewhere outdoors, with romantic lighting. Paris, New Zealand, New York…
