Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

MY VIOLET was born from a deep-rooted curiosity and an obsession of all thing’s flora. Inspired by a combination of unexpected ingredients mixed to create unusual pretty. For example, I’m not one to be drawn to all pastels in an arrangement, appreciate them but you will find I will either throw a black calla lily in the mix, or a striking tropical leaf or tropical orchid to clash a bit, yet compliment the overall colour palette.

Then It’s my love of colour combinations, the type of flower although important, is second when I combine ingredients. Colour can evoke a mood, an emotion. The start of the story we want to tell.

What services do you offer couples?

Bespoke floral consultation and personalized design bringing to life the visualisation of the bride and groom. Wrapping station at bump out.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Colour texture shape. A fusion of wild romance and artistic elegance.

As a florist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

Wild meadows and the colour mash up you see across a field. It’s like organised chaos. Colour, bold striking elements. Large statement moments, using a random collection of vessels.

What would you like to see less of?

Peeled back roses.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

Put your budget towards areas where you spend most of your time in. If ot’s a sit-down dinner, make those tables a hero. If its roaming canape look, focus on large moments on plinths or on a bar to make a feature.
