About Noa Fineout

Noa Fineout’s designs reconceptualize romanticism, marrying ethereal silhouettes with refined tailoring and corsetry, evoking a complex femininity that while nostalgic and delicate, is also raw and structural.

After years of experience working in an esteemed Parisian couture house alongside some of the industry’s greatest talents, Noa brings a unique artistic perspective and invaluable technical expertise to each of her projects. Noa’s work aims to revitalize couture for the modern bride; each of her garments are one-of-a-kind, designed in fluid collaboration with her client and constructed by-hand using luxury materials and impeccable couture craftsmanship.

Behind The Brand

What was the spark for beginning your brand?

After working in Parisian couture houses for several years, I launched my namesake label and atelier out of a desire to push the limits of my designs and collaborate with brides to develop one-of-a-kind garments that embody their unique aesthetic and personality. Further, inspired by the rich craftsmanship and avenues for creative experimentation revealed at each stage of the development process, I was motivated by the opportunity to independently design, drape, draft and construct each couture garment.

What inspires you creatively?

I find myself utterly mesmerized by the glassy near-reality of Renaissance portraiture. The sculptural quality of the subjects’ austere garments serves as a central source of inspiration: the meticulous geometry of the ruffs’ undulating curves, the severe shadows cast by the textiles’ heavy folds, the angular lines of the lacework’s ornate motifs… My own work is a reinterpretation of these references, for which intricate ethereal detailing adds refinement and dimension to corseted forms and antique volumes.

A favorite quote or piece of advice that inspires your creative work?

“When I work on a mannequin, it’s as if I’m handling clay, I mold, I put together, I take apart, I sew, I unpick…” – Azzedine Alaïa

I find this quote by Alaïa to be one of the purest and most emblematic descriptions of our art form. When I approach the design of a new garment, the sketch is just the beginning of my creative process, the physical act of draping and manipulating the fabric is where I find my greatest source of inspiration.

What advice can you give to brides embarking upon the bespoke process?

The most crucial piece of advice I give my clients is to remain open minded throughout the bespoke process. My brides are often surprised to discover that what truly makes them feel special, beautiful and themselves contrasts what they envisioned or admired on someone else. It is important to remember why you have chosen to go the custom route: to create an original design that uniquely represents you and is distinct from anything available on the bridal market.

What are you drawn to in bridal right now? And what would you love to see less of?

In truth, my own work endeavors to exist independent of the “right now.” My designs aim to transcend ephemeral trends, instead relying on timeless silhouettes, extraordinary couture craftsmanshipm and intricate original details to create pieces that, while youthful and modern, will be treasured for decades. That being said, corsetry features prominently in my work; I have always been drawn to its ability to sculpt the female form and enhance a garment’s femininity. My corsets are bolstered by superior technical craft, having trained under a member of Jean Paul Gauthier’s atelier while working in Paris.
