About Page Beauty

Page Beauty founder, Tanya Bures, began her career in the early '90s while studying fashion at Parsons School of Design in New York. Moved by runway looks created by makeup masters Francois Nars, Laura Mercier and Stephane Marais, Tanya redirected her artistic focus to makeup, a natural shift that utilized Tanya's inherent sense of color, design and style.

By 2013, Tanya was in demand for high-profile weddings and private clients. Sensing the need for fresh, radiant looks that pushed the boundaries of traditional bridal beauty, Tanya formed Page Beauty, a boutique collective of the best wedding hair and makeup artists in Los Angeles who also shared the same modern approach to hair and makeup.

Page Beauty’s work is uncomplicated, clean and seemingly effortless. Looks are inspired by natural beauty, glowing skin and relaxed hairstyling, all quintessential to Southern California. Their award-winning approach to beauty has garnered trust and loyalty by some of the most notable wedding professionals and photographers in the world. Their goal is to highlight individualism and inspire confidence with gorgeous hair and makeup.

Page Beauty continues to travel throughout the U.S. and beyond for destination weddings and styled editorials.

Behind The Brand

Favorite Beauty Products?

There are a few standby products that we love to use for brides, primarily for long wearability and a healthy, youthful look. Our makeup artists love Prescriptives Line Preventor Xtreme Serum, Ilia’s True Skin Radiant Priming Serum, and UZO Stem Cell Serum Complex. With proper serums, moisturizers work at a deeper level and hydration lasts longer. Some of our favorite makeup products include Face Atelier Foundation, Hourglass Ambient Powders, Anastasia Beverly Hills Eye Palettes, and NARS anything. To prepare the skin for makeup, I always suggest using the NARS Aqua Gel Luminous Mask once a week leading up to the big day, and again the night before the wedding. Healthy, radiant skin is a must on the wedding day.

Our hairstylists love Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo, Oribe Dry Texture Spray, AG Dry Wax Matte Finishing Mist, Milbon Restorative Blow-out Primer, and are big fans of Kevin Murphy and R+Co styling products. If brides need treatment for damaged or over-processed hair, our stylists recommend the Olaplex repair system prior to the wedding day.

What is your process of conceptualizing hair and makeup looks with brides and bridesmaids ahead of the wedding day?

Prior to meeting with brides, we’ll have a few conversations about how she envisions her hair and makeup on her wedding day, and we’ll ask for inspiration photos and a recent photo of herself in everyday hair and makeup. The latter gives us an idea of her comfort level in makeup and how important hairstyling is for her on a daily basis. Describing a look can be subjective, and though a look might read as “natural” to a bride, in reality, it could include contour, strobe highlighting, hair extensions, etc., and might be overwhelming for the bride. Having an idea of her comfort level and an idea of what she’s aspiring towards helps us direct her to a realistic interpretation that she’ll love and will feel comfortable wearing.

What’s your advice for brides when deciding on bridal hair and makeup looks?

Generally, brides have contacted us based on our beauty aesthetic, which leans towards a natural, effortless approach to hair and makeup. Because she’s already drawn to that aesthetic, she’s already decided that she doesn’t want to look overdone, overly made up, or have piles of hair or stiff curls. However, she may send us inspiration photos that appear effortless but actually require a bit of work. That’s where our expertise and experience is helpful once we meet in person to preview the look. We might advise on a look that complements the style of her gown (modern, clean lines vs. billowing sleeves) and the overall emotion of the wedding, whether or it’s indoor or outdoor, morning or late afternoon, at a winery or an urban venue, etc. Ultimately, we want the bride to feel like herself, only elevated to meet this incredible occasion.

What tips, tricks or advice do you have for brides to increase the longevity of their bridal look throughout the wedding day?

Our artists have been working with brides for many years and we’ve honed-in on products that are long-wearing, lightweight, and are standard in our kits. Our makeup artists love Skindinavia Finishing Sprays, and usually, the only items our brides will need to touch-up are her lip products (we avoid lip stains as they dry the lips almost immediately) and her t-zone with a talc-free powder or blotting tissue.

For hairstyling, we suggest booking the hairstylist for touch-ups if the wedding is outdoor, near the beach, in humid or wind-blown environments. This is especially helpful during the photo session and after-ceremony. In most cases, brides opt to keep both the makeup artist and hairstylist for full-service beauty touch-ups for herself and her bridal party, or if she’d like to do a second look for the reception.
