About Paper Paper Co

Paper Paper is a Byron Bay based design studio producing modern, refined and minimal wedding and event paper. Distinguished by typography and considered details, the studio’s work is quietly romantic and subtle in its introduction to event day styles and concepts. Driven by a desire to create classic, understated designs that appeal to various aesthetic sensibilities, Paper Paper is for the modern bride; bold in simplicity. Personalize our collection invitation suites and day of stationery to reflect your individual aesthetic or work with us to create a bespoke design.

Behind The Brand

Best piece of advice for event planning?

Be mindful of the timeframe for sending save the dates and invitations out and just how long it can take to finalise your guest list and collect addresses. Generally, Save the Dates should be sent 6-10 months prior (or 12 months or earlier if a destination wedding) and invitations 3-4 months prior.

Depending on the type of invitation (bespoke or semi custom) and printing technique, we recommend to allow 6-10 weeks for design collaboration and printing. It’s always best to get started as soon as you have finalised all necessary details though.

Also, decide on the things that are important to you and your fiancé early on and keep them in mind when making major decisions. Invitations set the tone of your event and there is no substitute for quality.

What was the spark for Paper Paper Co? Where did the story begin?

Whilst working for a stationery design house (with a much different aesthetic) I noticed a gap for stationery that was more minimal and refined.  However, it wasn’t until I helped some friends to create their wedding invitations that I truly considered the venture and developed the brand — all driven by a desire to create classic, understated stationery that appeals to the modern couple.

What inspires you creatively?

Anything and everything! With so many hours on the computer (and at times an overload of content) sometimes the best inspiration comes from something in the everyday.

Most memorable place you’ve travelled?

South America — I spent four months travelling there and it is so culturally rich and has some of the most diverse landscapes I have ever seen.

On a typical weekend?

You’ll find me at home in Byron Bay with my partner Ross and daughter Lottie, usually at the beach or exploring all that this region has to offer.
