About Radostina Boseva

Radostina (Rah-dos-tina) was born and raised in the coastal town of Varna, Bulgaria. After finishing her Master’s in Arts, she moved to the Czech Republic, where she began her career in graphic design, styling, and art direction. It was there, in the middle of her Czech adventure, that her passion for film photography was born. Now an award-winning wedding photographer, Radostina resides in San Francisco with her husband, Martin, and their English bulldog, Fuji.

Radostina is influenced by her Eastern European heritage and love for the past. Her timeless style is defined by her love of simplicity and minimalism, combined with the artistic use of clean lines and negative space. Favoring neutral tones and black, her work is emotive and organic, with a touch of romanticism and modernism.

She frequently travels between the United States and Europe, crafting photographs that are as elegant and as unique as her clients.

Behind The Brand

What draws you to wedding photography?

Wedding photography is a world where you have to wear multiple hats and skills, from setting up those beautiful flat-lay shots to quickly reading and adapting to changing light conditions. But what really gets me is how it demands your full presence at every moment. It’s this unique blend of skills and mindfulness that makes it a fascinating field for me. And to photograph such an important day in the life of so many people – I find that an honor.

How would you describe your photography style?

I’d say my photography style is a blend of contrasting elements. It’s a bit of minimalism mixed with organized chaos, leaning towards an editorial side while keeping that documentary feel. I love to infuse some fashion-forward vibes into it, but at the same time, I aim for a timeless quality. It’s like finding that sweet spot between modern and classic. And when I’m photographing humans and the connection between them, I want people to look at their images and recognize themselves 20 years from now.

What inspires you creatively?

Oh, there’s so much that fuels my creativity! I draw inspiration from history, art, and a warm feeling of nostalgia. Genuine human connections and meaningful conversations are a big source of inspiration for me. Plus, I’m a sucker for all things analog. You’ll often find me flipping through ’90s fashion magazines, getting inspired by unique architecture, or simply grooving to some good music. Traveling and nature. Puppies too.

What is it that makes an image magical?

It’s tough to put into words, but I’d say the magic in an image comes from a mix of elements. You need that perfect interplay of light, and a dash of genuine emotion captured behind the camera adds another layer of enchantment. It’s like blending these ingredients into a story – that’s how I see visual poetry coming to life.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

Apart from looking at the artistic side of things, one surprising aspect that I’ve noticed recently is how couples appreciate simple things like human kindness. It’s interesting how kindness and respect can make such a big difference in the whole experience. I’m a people person, and I believe in creating a comfortable and positive atmosphere for everyone involved. So, when choosing a wedding photographer, consider the kind of person your photographer is. I believe energy is so important.

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

Honestly, every place that has its own charm with a unique blend of history, architecture, and character. But if I had to pick a few dream locations, I’d say Budapest, the Martinicky Palace in Prague, and the vibrant vibes of Istanbul’s Soho House. In California, for example, I love the nature surrounding Sea Ranch and the small charming spots on California Highway One. Oh, and let’s not forget Masseria Moroseta in Puglia, not just for its beauty but also because it’s home to an adorable English bulldog.
