About Signed By Shaun

A bespoke design studio tailored to wedding and event stationery and signage.

Behind the Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

The love for design, typography, art, and fashion. Designing and styling a close friend’s wedding led to pursuing a career in this industry. It has allowed me to design full time, collaborating and working with brands and couples all over the world. Creative thoughts continue to spark within everyday life, I find I can express myself creatively and share my passion through this brand, ultimately aiming to bring our couples’ vision to life on their special day.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

I find that my aesthetic varies depending on the client’s brief. Generally, in terms of fonts I gravitate towards a clean and elegant serif or script however hand drawn typefaces, illustrations, and European inspired designs have been incorporated into my work and have become very popular of late. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of many different cultured weddings around the world that has allowed my design perspective to shift and create unique concepts which continue to evolve Signed By Shaun as a brand.

What inspires your work creatively?

Everyday life experiences, the beauty of travel, photography, art, fashion, and lifestyle. Incorporating these small details and different elements into wedding design can be quite difficult, however very rewarding.

Tell us about the process for couples when designing/purchasing their wedding signage/stationery?

We offer bespoke or semi-custom collections. The process is quite seamless, we continue to work with the couple to ensure their stationery and signage is perfect and exactly what they have envisioned. For bespoke orders, multiple proofs and reviews are included.

Semi-custom collections are predesigned mock-ups where the client will have a clear visual and understanding prior to designing. This method has limited design proofs, and the process is a lot faster.

What tips or advice can you share for choosing wedding stationery?

Start early and define your style by creating a mood board of inspiration and descriptive thoughts.

This process helps both the designer and the couple and prevents confusion and unnecessary emails early in production.

Though this isn’t a necessity! If you’re unsure of your vision, contact us and we can run through it together!
