What draws you to wedding photography?

What draws me to wedding photography is the profound significance of a wedding day. It’s a journey marked by the understanding that no wedding is the same, no couple is the same and they all have unique stories to tell. The moments they experience during the day aren’t just events, they’re milestones where emotions run high, and the weight of the day is palpable. This is a feeling that I want to translate into my images. I feel genuine joy being able to not only document but also share in the experience of these moments with my couples and their loved ones. I find satisfaction in the spontaneity, embracing the unpredictable twists that allow me to capture a wide range of emotions.

In the midst of capturing a wedding day, I value the artistic challenge of documenting every fleeting moment while crafting high-end, expressive images. It’s a balancing act between spontaneity and artistry, where my aim is not only to record events but to infuse each frame with the authentic emotions experienced. Finding this balance is a process that keeps me pushing the boundaries of my creativity,

How would you describe your photography style?

My photography style is a harmonious blend of documentary and minimalistic aesthetics. By intertwining the candid authenticity of documentary storytelling with the refined simplicity of minimalism, I capture the essence of each wedding in a way that is both genuine and visually compelling, resulting in images that tell a unique story with a touch of elegance.

What inspires you creatively?

I get inspired by travelling to new locations, by the shifting play of sunlight throughout the day, by the richness of meeting new people with their own unique vision. I also find inspiration in art. Analyzing what it is that captivates me in terms of composition, prompting, storytelling, … helps me to view my own work from a different perspective and challenges me to try different things.

What is it that makes an image magical?

For me, an image becomes magical when it cuts through the surface and captures the real essence of a couple. When it goes beyond what’s expected and showcases genuine connection and real emotions, even when the picture might not be ‘picture perfect.’

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

Choosing your perfect wedding photographer is a crucial decision that goes beyond the allure of picture-perfect venues, styling, and dresses. Look deeper into their work and examine how they capture details, emotions, and moments. Pay attention to the actual stories the images tell and ask yourself: do they resonate with you?

But most of all: trust your instincts. Choose someone who you share a genuine connection with so you know that they will be able to create an atmosphere of comfort and trust on your special day and that the moments they capture will reflect the true essence of your unique love story.

I strongly believe that the photography experience should be an enjoyable and unforgettable part of the wedding day and I take pride in making the whole process easy and fun for my couples.

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

Anywhere new! Exploring new locations and understanding what initially attracted my couples to them is so much fun and is a huge source of inspiration for my work.
