About Switzer Farm of Westport
Perched at the very edge of the wild Pacific Ocean on the rugged Northern California Coast, Switzer Farm is a majestic and secluded destination wedding venue. The restored 1884 Victorian farmhouse, garden cottage, and historic barns sit atop 22 private oceanfront acres with a third of a mile of our own coastal bluffs. We enjoy an uninterrupted ocean view from everywhere on the site.
We are located three and a half hours north of San Francisco, 35 minutes north of Mendocino, and 20 minutes north of Fort Bragg, just outside the historic village of Westport.

Yes, the farmhouse and garden cottage can host 27 guests with additional accommodation options available in the nearby village of Westport.
What additional features and facilities does your venue offer that couples may find useful?
The property has a stunning fully equipped kitchen, beautiful uplighting on the farmhouse for those celebrations that continue after dark, plentiful space for guest parking, and a remote secluded location to have entirely to yourselves.

The house is also equipped with a generator in case of a power outage.
What type of couple would fall in love with your venue and why?
Couples who are wanting a secluded, remote location with beautiful gardens and unlimited ocean views, an oasis they can truly settle into amongst the wilderness with their loved ones.
Editor’s Notes
Why we love it…
Secluded on the Californian coast, this oceanside property combines heritage and seclusion to present a world of its own. A place to be immersed in the simplicity of the ocean breeze on warm summer nights, to dance barefoot on the lawns under the stars, followed by a relaxed afternoon picnic the next day.
For the couple…
Wanting to make the most of a destination venue, whereby they can take a road trip, getting lost in the magic of the Mendocino Coast on the way and settle in for an uninterrupted three-day celebration.
Styling tips…
Host an intimate welcoming dinner at dusk on the verandah with a minimal approach and muted color palette. Follow this direction for your ceremony by the headlands, with a simplified and stripped back setting of bare branches and translucent fabrics. Set one long table, organically styled elegantly with white roses, raw hemmed linens, and handmade ceramics.
