Our brand name “TEMPÊTE” derives from the French word for “storm” [tãpɛt], capturing the essence we strive to embody. It represents a profound outpouring of passionate emotions between lovers, illustrating their irresistible gravitational pull towards one another. At the core of our brand, we empower brides to curate their own unique aesthetic by effortlessly combining our collection of bridal separates, exquisite veils, and captivating accessories. What was the spark for beginning TEMPÊTE?

The spark that ignited TEMPÊTE was the desire to revolutionize the bridal fashion industry and provide a fresh, modern approach for brides. The vision of empowering brides to curate their own look, combining bridal separates, unique wedding veils, and statement accessories, inspired us to embark on this journey. We wanted to break away from traditional norms and offer brides the opportunity to think outside the box, embrace their individuality, and create a truly unforgettable wedding day ensemble.

What inspires you creatively?

When it comes to creativity, I find inspiration in all sorts of things! From the beauty of shapes and forms to stunning architecture, to the incredible women I encounter, and the company of creative individuals around me. Deep conversations, the warmth of friendship, and the joys of parenthood all light up my creative spark. Also the beauty of music, the freedom of dance, the wonders of art, and the thrill of travel! Life, in all its glory, never fails to inspire me — I simply love every bit of it!

A favourite quote or piece of advise that inspires your creative work?

“Creativity takes courage.” –Henri Matisse

This quote by Henri Matisse is a favourite of mine and serves as an enduring source of inspiration for my creative work. It reminds me that to truly tap into the depths of creativity, one must summon the courage to explore uncharted territories, take risks, and break free from the constraints of conformity. It encourages me to embrace vulnerability, trust my instincts, and push the boundaries of what is considered possible. Matisse’s words remind me that creativity is not merely a product of talent or skill, but a courageous act of self-expression that has the power to inspire and transform both the creator and the audience.

What advice can you give to brides when shopping for their dress?

Be courageous, be experimental! Your wedding day is a unique opportunity to showcase your true beauty and individuality. Trust your instincts and follow your own desires, disregarding any external opinions. When embarking on the wedding dress shopping journey, choose a friend who will uplift and support you, without judgment or negativity. If you opt for online shopping, pay close attention to measurement charts and consider the services of a skilled alterationist to ensure a perfect fit. Remember, you are inherently beautiful, and any choice you make is yours to cherish. You have the authority to be exactly who you want to be on your special day.

What are you drawn to in bridal right now? And what would you love to see less of?

I find myself captivated by the evolving wedding shift taking place in the bridal landscape. Couples are choosing a more minimalistic approach, placing emphasis on creating an intimate ambiance and prioritizing their own emotions. Brides, in particular, are selecting bridal outfits that truly reflect their unique personalities. It’s exhilarating to witness the emergence of cool, innovative bridal brands entering the market. Observing their growth, experimentation, and being in their presence is an inspiring experience. This new wave of creativity is reshaping the wedding industry and inviting brides to celebrate their individuality in unforgettable ways.
