Behind The Brand
What draws you to wedding photography?
The answer is simple – everything! From the glamour and the emotions to the artistic expression, Wedding photography encompasses it all. For me, this industry uniquely blends the worlds of art and business, creating the perfect synergy.
My passion for Wedding photography stems from a deep appreciation for celebrations and communal gatherings. Capturing the essence of such joyous occasions is both fulfilling and inspiring. The conventional 9 to 5 office job never resonated with me. Instead, I was drawn to the idea of harnessing my creative talents while simultaneously running a successful business. Wedding photography offers me the ideal platform to achieve this, allowing me to immerse myself in my craft while contributing to the creation of timeless memories for my clients.
How would you describe your photography style?
We have recently undergone a rebranding process to better reflect our personality and vision. I firmly believe that when you infuse your personality into your work and portfolio, it clearly defines your brand identity.
Our rebranding embodies a candid, high-energy style with an editorial finesse, designed to make couples feel like movie stars on their special day. We’ve embraced the use of direct flash and motion blur in our recent work, which conveys a dynamic and energetic atmosphere, making the photos less formal and stiff. This approach not only adds a contemporary edge but also highlights the spontaneity and excitement of the moment.
In addition, we continually experiment with various photoshoot techniques to ensure each session is unique and never repetitive. This commitment to innovation allows us to deliver a distinctive and personalised experience for every client, reinforcing our dedication to excellence and creativity in Wedding photography.
What inspires you creatively?
Inspiration can be found in countless places – from discovering new photoshoot locations and drawing from movie scenes to exploring editorial directories and engaging with social media.
Building and maintaining a strong online community is essential, as it immerses you in a constant flow of inspiration and creative ideas. Being actively involved in such a community fosters an environment where innovation thrives. Additionally, clients play a pivotal role in the creative process. Those who are open to guidance and trust in your vision significantly enhance the final results. Their willingness to collaborate allows the imagery to truly come to life, capturing the essence of the moment with authenticity and vibrancy.
What is it that makes an image magical?
As a photographer, there is an unparalleled thrill that comes with capturing the perfect shot. You recognise it instantly, a moment when everything aligns flawlessly – the lighting, the couple’s love reflection, the composition, and the raw emotion. This sense of accomplishment, often accompanied by a rush of goosebumps, is one of the most gratifying aspects of photography.
Achieving this “hero photo” requires vigilance and a keen eye throughout the day. Rather than solely focusing on posed shots, it’s essential to remain alert and ready to capture those spontaneous, in-between moments. These candid instances often convey the most genuine and heartfelt emotions, resulting in images that resonate deeply and authentically with the couple. By staying attentive and open to these fleeting opportunities, photographers can create truly memorable and impactful photographs that tell a compelling story.
What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?
I would advise couples to take their time with research and avoid rushing into decisions. While the excitement of wedding planning might tempt you to book all your vendors in a single weekend, it’s crucial to take a more considered approach, especially when choosing your photographer.
Follow and engage with your favourite photographers on social media, explore their portfolios, and get to know their styles and personalities before making a commitment. Remember, your wedding vendors, particularly your photographer, will be with you throughout the entire day. Ensuring a strong rapport and mutual understanding is essential for creating not only great memories but also a timeless gallery of photographs that you will cherish for years to come. By investing time in selecting the right photographer, you can ensure that your wedding day is beautifully and authentically captured, reflecting the unique essence of your celebration.
Your dream location to shoot a wedding?
Among the many choices, Paris stands out as my ultimate destination. Having visited the city six times on family holidays, I have developed a deep affection for its rich culture and enchanting ambiance. The idea of photographing in such a romantic and historic city is truly a dream for me.
Fun fact, I am even learning French to ensure I can fully immerse myself in the local culture and communicate effectively. This dedication underscores my passion for the city and my commitment to seizing any chance to work there. Paris, with its timeless beauty and artistic allure, represents the perfect backdrop for capturing unforgettable moments through photography.
