About The Lillipillian

The Lillipillian is a floral design and styling studio founded by the creative Tegan O’Brien—a coffee addict, Jurassic Park aficionado, neon sign enthusiast, and all-around flower lover.

With an easy-going philosophy, The Lillipillian thrives on crafting stunning weddings for loved-up couples. We delight in styling and creating events filled with an abundance of fresh flowers and mood lighting. Our style is bold and artistic, blending a touch of wildness with plenty of finesse.

We believe that weddings should be fun and stress-free, which is why we're dedicated to making the planning process as easy as possible for you. Our boutique studio is located in Sydney’s west, but we’re happy to travel anywhere for our couples. If you think we might be the perfect match for your wedding vision, get in touch to arrange a consultation—and maybe share a cheeky gin together!

Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

The Lillipillian was a slow-growing brand that has become a full-blown obsession. I never had a doubt that I would be working in a creative industry; it was just a matter of finding the right fit—the minute I picked up flowers, I knew I had found my medium.

I have a background in fine arts as well as jewelry and object design, so I bring my training into all of my work and styling. Each element is approached with intuition and an understanding of design, color, and balance, with an added element of my own personality thrown into the mix.

What services do you offer couples?

We offer all floral services including personal flowers—bouquets and buttonholes—as well as both the ceremony and reception florals.

We also offer styling services to bring the whole vision together. From creating the overall vision and mood to sourcing furniture, decor, and tableware.

We have a large range of styling decor available including candles, vessels, plinths, and special sculptural elements.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Bold, artistic, and somewhat quirky while still being very considered and refined.

As a florist, what are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

Art and sculpture, fresh fruits and vegetables used as texture. Couples being true to themselves and pushing the boundaries of tradition. Shape and textures that you wouldn’t necessarily think of for weddings.

What would you like to see less of?

Church pew ends! The pressure on couples to create a wedding for everyone else except themselves.

A styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

Focus on creating moments of impact rather than trying to spread the budget absolutely everywhere.

Editor’s Notes…

Why we love her…

Geometric and sinuous. Rising with striking brilliance and then falling into dripping formations. The florals from The Lillipillian are unfolding stories, living invitations to admire the romance of nature and how, when crafted with excellence, it alchemizes a space.

For the couple…

Romanced by florals that spill through the seams of tradition, redefining what flowers can achieve. Arranged and installed with an otherworldly vision, The Lillipillian produces florals that eclipse the ordinary.
