Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for the property and how did it all begin?

With a background in the creative industries and award-winning hospitality businesses, Founders Emma and Paul set out to create a special destination wedding venue to capture the romance and beauty of Cornwall. Discovering Treseren, a grade II listed Mine Captain’s house with stunning architectural features close to beautiful beaches on the rugged North Cornish coast, bought the dream to life. The house encapsulates wild and romantic tales of the Mine Captains that lived there and sparked the spirit of Treseren.

Thoughtfully renovated to create a space for love and celebration, Treseren has quickly become the place to choose for a small and beautiful destination wedding, hosting couples from all over the UK and across the world.

What spaces do you offer for a wedding or event?

Treseren is offered as an exclusive use venue so the whole of the house and gardens are spaces for our couples and their guests to celebrate and relax.

Treseren’s Wedding Room with its high beamed ceiling and double aspect French doors leading out to the terraces and gardens is a light and beautiful space that acts as a blank canvas for our couples.

Outside, we have licensed areas of the grounds for civil ceremonies. On a fine day, our beautiful two-hundred-year-old walnut tree offers a stunning ceremony space enveloped by the tree’s canopy with dappled light which is much loved by photographers.

Our front lawn is surrounded by flowering shrubs and trees and flanked on one side by the westerly aspect of the house. In summer, guests enjoy croquet on the lawn and outdoor table tennis and there are two covered terraces for drinks and al fresco dining as well as a fire pit terrace.

Inside, our drawing room with antique piano and beautiful architectural arch recessed on the main wall, is our space for an indoor drinks reception. The sitting room with its log burner and two beautiful windows framing views to the gardens makes an elegant, yet cozy space for conversation.

Our decadent vintage styled cocktail bar with gold-leaf ceiling is a hidden gem to be discovered. Named after Loveday Champion who resided in the house in the 1840s, Loveday’s serves beautiful bespoke cocktails mixed with home-made syrups and artisan spirits as well as a range of local beers, ciders, wine and champagne.

We offer six beautiful bedrooms offering accommodation for up to 12 guests with the option to invite 10 additional day guests for an intimate weekend wedding.

How many guests can you cater for?

As a venue that specializes in small weddings, we offer intimate wedding weekends for up to 22 guests. We also offer elopements just for the couple themselves and micro weddings for up to 12 closest family and friends

What is it that makes your property magic?

Treseren has a magical feeling, with a vibe of laid-back luxury that flows through a wedding celebration. We have years of experience planning and running magical small weddings and we will be there to guide you on every step of your wedding journey.

Encompassing a two or three night stay so nothing has to be rushed, all the small details have been considered to create a special experience for our couple and their guests; from home-made cake and tea and coffee on arrival, followed by a delicious sharing platters welcome feast, incredible breakfasts, bespoke cocktails and a dedicated, passionate team to co-ordinate and host the wedding day, Treseren invites couples to relax and enjoy time together with their closest loved ones.

There are stunning beaches within ten minutes of Treseren and couples often enjoy being whisked away by their photographer for a trip to the beach after their wedding ceremony – a unique opportunity to savor the breathtaking views and capture once in a lifetime memories. Those staying for a long weekend enjoy the coastline with family and friends the day after their wedding before returning to a barbecue in summer or the log burner and hot chocolate by the fire in winter.

At the heart of Treseren are people – the team really care and create friendly, attentive hosting. At Treseren, we like to add what we call ‘moments of sparkle’ and from the moment we meet, we bring our passion for the beautiful small weddings we host.

What advice can you give couples when selecting their venue?

As well as the interiors and exteriors of a venue – which should of course be beautiful and right for your vision, make sure you get a good feeling from your host. It is the connection and how much the team at the venue care about your day that will ensure a magical wedding experience. We offer personally hosted virtual tours of Treseren, which offer 360 degree views of the house and gardens as well as a chance to get to know each other.
