I like the idea of bringing my personal outlook, beyond the fashions of the moment, to create something that makes your heart flutter as it always does when after years you find a family photograph stored in a secret drawer. I would like my photography to be read not as romantic but as passional.

What draws you to wedding photography?

Wedding photography allows me to talk about love like poets and songwriters. Photography is a language just like music and art. From the emotion of certain looks very intense portraits come to life, from the elegant gestures between the veils and the wind comes a story made of delicate and elegant images.

How would you describe your photography style?

I define my photography as not artistic but poetical, elegant and timeless photography that manages to tell the story of a love and an era, through customs and traditions. I studied photojournalism in New York and Milan, so my approach to wedding photography is more documentary and editorial.

What inspires you creatively?

The great photographers, of reportage, portrait, fashion, because in a wedding there is all this. But also the cinema and literature. The more curious and hungry you are for stories the more you enrich yourself as a photographer. Photography is an obsession, if not it is just a passing infatuation.

What is it that makes an image magical?

Photography is magical because as someone said it is “the meeting of foreknowledge and chance.” A unique encounter that can never be repeated, an alchemy between you and the subject.

What advice would you give couples when selecting their wedding photographer?

I suggest trying to understand what photographs set him or her apart from others and thus what is really important to him or her. If it is possible I recommend getting to know each other beforehand and figuring out if you like him or her as a person as well, because having a photographer you are in harmony with on the wedding day will change everything.

Your dream location to shoot a wedding?

There are so many locations that I love in Italy because all of them are full of history, from Tuscany to Sicily. In recent years I have also fallen in love with Marrakech, where I live and work a few months a year, the desert, the riads, the authenticity and history of each place always move me and the colors are unique in the world.
