Hellenic Hair Adornment from Haute Couture

A fresh take on an ancient tradition

Taking cues from recent Spring Couture runway styling, we’re re-considering gilded wreaths and Hellenic references, for a fresh take on an ancient tradition. Symbolic of ceremonial occasions and celebration, these elegant, newly imagined incarnations feel befitting for the modern bride.

Divinely feminine and a subtle nod to ‘something old’ they transcend conservative ‘classicism’ with their roots in ancient bohemia, made newly opulent and luxe re-imagined in silver and gold. Perfect for those who secretly love the idea of a flower crown, but feel too whimsical or overtly feminine in fresh-floral varieties.

These accessories are best paired with natural hair, loosely textured and free flowing, or swept into an imperfect bun. Polished, perfectly lacquered styling (worn up or down) should be avoided at all costs – it will appear dated at best and ‘pageant princess’ at worst when accessorised with a wreath! For makeup, look to the fresh faced girls at Valentino for sunlit weddings, or the subtly smokey eyes at Zuhair Murad, perfect for after dark.
