Dripped in oceanic motifs, Inbal Dror‘s Fall ’19 collection ‘Capri’ was submerged in the mood of the Mediterranean Sea. Inspired by the ocean; it’s freedom and lightness, there was an effortless and ease to the season previously unexplored. Relaxed silhouettes draped from the body, while cascading ruffles, embroidered tulles and flowing trains mimicked the fluidity and movement of tides into the shoreline. Simplistic styles delicately panelled in lace gave a fresh perspective on a romantic bohemia while pieces dotted in shimmering sequins and bold embroidery made more of a dramatic statement.

Atmosphere

Stepping into the show, abstract projections and seaside sounds filled the room… waves washing into shore, gulls chirping in the distance, a soft Summer’s breeze. And for a moment we were taken there… seaside in Capri looking out into the horizon and all it’s beauty. As the show began, Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg’s ‘Je Taime.. moi non plus’ whispered out as models gracefully flowed down the runway, romancing us into the European beauty of it all.

Editor’s Highlight

A draped blouson silk gown with a dropped waist, floor length tiers and intricate lace trims, billowing and cascading down the runway. It was a new silhouette for the designer with 1920s and 70s influences but unlike anything we’ve seen before. A true bohemian free spirit embodied this piece with a chic effortlessness and delicate restraint. Perfect for a beach backdrop wedding, the piece would softly blow with the breeze creating an ethereal rather than typically messy moment.

Style Tips

Play off the oceanic inspiration with an air of beach bridal beauty; effortless tousled beach waves, sun-kissed glowing skin and light makeup. Style with a pair of strappy Summer sandals, Baroque pearl jewellery or raw crystals. These natural elements will create a beautiful and on-trend look while keeping it subtle and not overly thematic.
