The Lane Fall ’22 Bridal Runway Show
In a dance of darkness and decadence, The Lane Fall ’22 Bridal Digital Runway Show presents an edit of new season gowns suffused in otherworldly magic and adorned with Hardy Brothers jewels.
In a dance of darkness and decadence, The Lane Fall ’22 Bridal Runway Show illuminates the magic that emerged from a season shrouded in mystery and waves of change. A dreamscape of artful creations sculpted by hands lead innately by heart. A season of mounting pressure that perfectly alchemized the most luminous of diamonds.
Lit by celestial midnight skies and engulfed by jewelled seas, models waded barefoot through a lagoon swathed in ephemeral gowns and opulent Hardy Brothers diamonds. A constellation of crystalline embroidery, lucent flashes of silvery metallic accents, liquid-like silks and iridescent pearls contrast raw, oceanic surrounds. This season’s digital runway is an edit of exquisite bridal looks from the world’s most distinguished designers and newly unearthed boutique brands, suffused in otherworldly magic.
Decadently Embellished
Spilling with a celestial iridescence, this season’s gowns explore the lustre of embellishments and ornamentation through intriguing contrasts. Hand-woven embellishments and sequinned accents are balanced with diaphanous fabrics and sheer tendrils of tulle, while weighted sequinned gowns pool into form-fitting silhouettes, evocative of molten metal.
Three-dimensional appliqués dusted with jewel-like beads spanned across the collections of Costarellos, Elly Sofocli, and Aleena Lena. Lace-like patterns of shimmering beads and sequins balance in harmony with barely-there wisps of transparent tulle, mesmeric styled with whispers of glistening fine jewels.
Liquid-like gowns dripping with gemstone-like sequinned embellishments added a molten fluidity to gowns crafted by Julita, & For Love, Daalarna, Galia Lahav and Mariana Hardwick, destined for twilight ceremonies in coastal settings. The secret to wearing heavy embellishment lies in silhouettes that drape over the female form like a second skin. Exquisite as stand-alone statements, these gowns need nothing more than bare skin and hints of natural, freshwater pearls.
Modern Simplicity
Celebrating the art of restraint, contemporary cuts and masterful tailoring are bold in their simplicity. Finished in luxurious, liquid-like fabrics, expertly draped over the female form, these gowns move with effortless ease.
Look for unique elements like modern cut-out details, textured silks or voluminous sleeves to add drama to understated looks. Play with veils and jewelry to punctuate a simple gown – we loved Anna Kara’s modern gown draped with a pearl encrusted veil, or liquid-like Shona Joy silks finished with lucid droplets of baroque Hardy Brothers pearls. Let textural details woven into the fabrications of masterfully cut gowns by Ella Moda command attention on their own or add a hint of shimmer with a diamond bangle to pared-back silhouettes by Evie Young. Pair luminescent gowns by the likes of Hera Couture and NEWHITE with striking Hardy Brothers diamonds.
Ephemeral Silhouettes
Effortlessly romantic and beautifully contemporary, ethereal fabrics in barely there-tints graced the Fall ’22 collections. Voluminous silhouettes became weightless balanced with translucent sleeves, tendrils of silks fell from ornate lace, victorian bodices were balanced with sheer panels.
An aesthetic that suits diversely different occasions – opulently embroidered gowns by Galia Lahav, nostalgic silhouettes by Ritual Unions and translucent sleeves and voluminous tulle by Elly Sofocli had us dreaming of château celebrations. Gauzy layers in undulating shapes by Maticevski were perfect for seaside celebrations.
Softly ruched details by Karen Willis Holmes and Alena Leena are spun into cinched waists before spilling into voluminous skirts, while Anna Kara and Daalarna’s sheer creations elegantly reveal a whisper of skin.
Voluminous & Sculptural
Exploring dramatic forms with sculptural integrity, this season artfully wove dreams of fantasy to life with couture-like precision. Dimensional forms are weighted with sumptuous fabrications, dancing between lines of art and fashion. Not for the faint of heart, these are masterpieces intended to make a grand entrance.
Frothy layers of tulle spill over airy delicacies by the likes of Kaviar Gauche while celestial textures from Mariana Hardwick add an airiness to full-skirted silhouettes. These are dramatic gowns destined for exquisite ball-room settings with plenty of breathing space to dance. Play up the wildly romantic nature of Sebastien Luke’s elegantly sculpted ruffles with secret garden settings. Pair elegant off-the-shoulder detailing by Ritual Unions and dramatic low-to-high trailing hemlines from the likes of Vivienne Westwood with fine hints of jewel-toned gems.
Embrace the drama of Murashka’s voluminous gowns, accented with billowing sleeve details and textural petal motifs. Style with a sleek bun for subtle impact – there is little need for extra ornamentation.
