Set against the classical backdrop of the Château Saint-Antoine, the wedding of Andrea Ricci and Jarred Stewart was a study in understated grandeur.
In a nod to the nostalgia of Truman Capote dinner parties, the reception unfolded beneath draped layers of sheer organza, amidst symmetrical, long-length tables adorned by spilling white florals and slender candelabras. From the oysters and foie gras served on silver platters to the five course meal that followed, each detail was delicate and punctuated by notes of old-world romance.
The bride wore a sculptural silk gown designed by herself and José Saint Jacques & Simon Bélanger, former designers at UNTTLD, with The Row heels.
The wedding was elegantly photographed by Studio ALTA.

How We Met
We met at a club we used to frequent quite often. He was very charismatic and I had a crush on him as soon as we got to know each other.
Our Engagement Story
Jarred proposed in Italy in a town called Vieste, it was so intimate with no one around. We were simply holding hands and walking around. I approached a quiet corner with a lovely church and as I turned around he was on one knee. It was just us and it was so perfect.
What we love most about each other…
Jarred is a calm and classic soul, I’m more eclectic. We truly complete one another, together we are such a lovely balance. We are different, yet share many interests. We like to write music together, he’s a guitar player and I’m the singer songwriter.
The Setting
Wedding Location
We picked Château Saint-Antoine as we loved the thought of having a private castle for our guests. There were different spaces to enjoy such as the garden for cocktails, the terrace for dinner and a ballroom for dancing.
Aesthetic
Timeless and elegant. We wanted it to feel like a huge dinner party, something out of a Truman Capote ball. We specifically did not want to partake in any trends.
Preparation
I (Andrea) rented a house near the Château Saint-Antoine the night before the wedding and slept there with my mom. I woke up around 10 am and had my Godfather (who is my hairdresser) style my updo as my bridesmaids arrived.
Jarred made breakfast for his groomsmen in our Montreal apartment.
Photography
Sarah Astner from Studio ALTA came all the way from Australia for our wedding. We loved her wedding photography style, which had a fashion and documentary feel. She captured moments in a natural way which we loved.
Style Notes
Ceremony Décor
We got married in a very old church which was already so beautiful, we didn’t want to distract our guests with too many decorations. We had two columns draped in cream fabric with 2 floral arrangements.
Reception Décor
The ceiling of the terrace was draped in sheer organza to make the space feel more intimate. We wanted long tables with lots of candles with large neutral floral arrangements. There was a lot of attention to detail. I (Andrea) designed the five-course menu, as I had a vision of an old menu from a luxury hotel in mind. We made the playlist for the evening to really create an intimate atmosphere that represented us.
Wedding Planner & Stylist
We worked with a wedding planner. We had a very specific vision in mind, Florence, from Bleu Wedding was able to make sure nothing would stray away from that vision.
Flowers
Sveja made all of our floral arrangements. Calla lilies have always been my favorite. It was also the flower my mother chose for her wedding. We worked together and found the perfect balance between a classic and modern arrangement for the tables.
Stationery
I (Andrea) designed all the stationery as I really wanted to create the feel of an old luxurious hotel. They always have the best stationery! Bleu Wedding helped design the wedding invitation, we wanted to set the tone with the beautiful cursive font.
Favors & Bonbonniere
We had customized silk fans that were distributed at the church to keep guests cool. We also had Malboro gold cigarettes with customized matches scattered outside.
Cake
We chose a very classic three tiered vanilla cake with lots of piping.
Food & Beverages
We had canapés served on silver trays during the cocktail such as caviar blinis, oysters, foie gras etc. We had a five course meal: Pâté en croûte & port jelly – caesar salad – mushroom pecorino ravioli – filet mignon, grilled vegetables & patates dauphinoises – panettone dulce de leche & vanilla ice cream. The cocktail menu served dirty martinis, espresso martinis, cosmopolitans, moscow mules and aperol spritz throughout the evening.

Fashion & Beauty Notes
Bride’s Dress & Shoes
I (Andrea) designed the dress with former designers of UNTTLD, José Saint Jacques & Simon Bélanger. The dress is made entirely of silk. The traditional corset was made by hand by Simon Bélanger, he also laced me into the dress the day of the wedding. Shoes are by The Row.
Wedding Rings, Jewelry & Accessories
The engagement ring was custom as was the wedding band. Jarreds ring is engraved “Forever and a day” by Mejuri.
I did not want to wear any more jewelry, only white opera gloves.
Hair & Makeup
I did not want to look very different from my usual look and I wanted it to remain timeless. My makeup artist Axel Kamalii and I researched looks from the 90’s and Old Hollywood. He really mastered the current yet elegant feel I was looking for. Audrey Hepburn was the inspiration for the overall look, including hair. My Godfather Giovanni Ricci is my hair stylist and he knows that I want my hair very tight with no flyaways in sight.
Groom’s Attire
Tuxedos were from Waxman’s.
Bridesmaids Dresses & Shoes
The dresses are by UNTTLD in a custom color and fabric.
Flower Girls & Page Boy Outfits
Custom flower girl dresses and a rented tuxedo for the page boy.
The Details
Transport
We had a cream 1956 Rolls Royce as our car.
Honeymoon
We are going to Biarritz in September and ending our honeymoon in Paris. France is such a magical place. We plan on sourcing vintage watches and beautiful knick knacks for our apartment. The Saint-Ouen flea market is a must!
“I’d tell any bride: don’t stress over every little detail on your wedding day. Instead, soak in the moments with your husband—those are the memories that truly matter.”
Wedding Songs
Our first dance was Time After Time by Chet Baker.
Entertainment
We had a harpist, Emilie Khan, during the first part of the cocktail who played some of our favorite songs. The playlist was made by us for the rest of the cocktail and the dinner. A dear friend of ours Julio was our wedding DJ for the dancing part of the evening.
Celebrant
We got married in a catholic church, therefore the priest of the church.
Our Advice
A memorable moment…
We adored our wedding dinner, my husband and I were together holding hands soaking in the moment. The excitement of seeing all the people we love in one room coming together for us was such a special moment. I loved seeing his happiness and how proud he was. A very special feeling.
One thing I wish I knew before I started my wedding plans…
I would tell any bride to avoid paying attention to every little detail on the wedding day. Spend that time enjoying the moments with your husband, it truly goes by so quickly.
Whatever you calculate as the cost of your wedding, add 20%. So many things come up throughout the process and if you’re able to budget the extra’s it will alleviate so much stress.
Sources of inspiration…
Watching old movies with wedding scenes also really helps paint a picture.
