About Moon Canyon
We work with flowers because they speak to us, and we create arrangements for our clients because they need flowers to speak for them. We tell the stories through a season, a composition, a poetic floral movement. At Moon Canyon, our focus is to work collaboratively with our clients, crafting floral creations that enhance spaces, elevate events and express emotion. For us, working with flowers is much more than making stunning centrepieces or delicate bouquets. Instead, each project offers a fresh story and an opportunity to create a mood, craft a narrative, celebrate beauty and embrace the senses.
Behind The Brand
Your best piece of advice for event planning?
Having been in the event industry now for over 15 years (wow! really?!) I can say I’ve learned so many valuable lessons on being in a profession that leans heavily on both creative and logistical planning. My best tip though, is to take care in guiding the client. I’ve worked very hard on creating a brand and reputation where my clients trust me and feel confident in allowing me to creativity express their story.
What was the spark for Moon Canyon? Where did the story begin?
I had been working in the floral and event industry for about 6 years and was feeling as though I had something personal to say, with design and florals in particular. Moon Canyon came from the desire to create what was inside. Flowers have their own language that I feel really comfortable speaking.
What inspires you creatively?
So many things honestly! I would say color is key. I notice colors and combinations constantly. For me, relationship between two or three colors is so subtle, yet so significant, that I am inspired to create a composition where those feelings can be expressed.
Most memorable place you’ve travelled?
Recently I’ve traveled to Burgundy to create florals for a workshop. The French countryside in spring is NO JOKE! The beauty of the mustard fields in Dijon and the castles along the way have left a significant impression on my mind and soul.
On a typical weekend we’ll find you?
Working! We are booked more than half the weekends of the year. Our weddings take us all over but mainly up the coast of California to Santa Ynez, Los Olivos, Santa Barbara etc. The California coastline is my favorite place to spend my time, working or not.
