Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

Studio RC initially launched in 2021 as a thoughtfully curated online shop of vintage homewares and tablescape decor, out of our home in Toronto. As founders with design backgrounds, our passion for the fine details that make a space unforgettable began to soar. While we planned milestone celebrations in our own lives, the transition into event rentals felt natural. We are taken by sharing our spin on personal, artful interiors. Today, Studio RC is so much more than a rental collection. It’s a fusion of art, design and storytelling for those who refuse to settle for ordinary. We seek to leave every space we enter feeling like a lived-in masterpiece.

Your most popular products/hire items?

Our fabric draping service has become increasingly requested. It elevates any category of event in a powerful way, and is truly unique to every client. Our chairs, atelier tablecloths and flatware are next in popularity. These pieces are the pillars of creating a personalized experience.

What are you inspired by at the moment in the world of weddings?

In the colour world, we are loving silver chrome as a chic detail. We’re also inspired by the intentional use of negative space as a design element. When done precisely, the clean and crisp final product is striking. Pulling inspiration from everyday personal items that a client shares, such as jewelry or family heirlooms, can also open the door to some really special details.

A décor styling/planning tip or two you’ve learned along the way that you’d give to any couple?

Tap into your own interior design taste. Start with a piece of art or an object that speaks to you, and work that into your event formation. We encourage our clients to steer away from typical design models, and show themselves instead. When you pull from the foundation of your own interests and taste, every detail will be personal. That is what makes something timeless.

Tell us about your booking/hiring/online shopping process and what couples should know beforehand.

We want our client’s dream to become a reality as seamlessly as possible. New clients can start by downloading our Collection Lookbook from the website, the one-stop handbook to view our offerings. Clients will receive the lookbook by email, along with some essential introduction questions to obtain the need-to-know points for our first conversation. Our ability to customize what you see in the Collection is nearly endless. We ship most of our inventory globally, and travel Canada wide.
