About The Mount Without

A gathering place for over 900 years, The Mount Without is an ethereal space that provides the perfect backdrop for a truly memorable wedding and has behind it a powerhouse team of award-winning creatives and wedding planners.

This beautiful building is situated in the heart of the city and has been painstakingly renovated and restored to create a sense of being in a raw, abandoned place.

Exposed walls etched in paintings by local artists and stained glass combine with a suspended contemporary art installation and brand-new polished oak floor to create a modern ambiance, while at the same time retaining the building’s story and rich history.

What rooms/spaces do you have available for a wedding?

We have two spaces – The Main Hall and The Crypt.

How many people can each of these cater for?

The Church can accommodate up to 200 seated guests, and we can screen off sections of the church when hosting smaller weddings to create a more intimate space.

The Crypt can accommodate up to 200 standing.

Do you offer onsite accommodation?

We don’t have on-site accommodation, but we do have a green room that the wedding party can use throughout the day, and we are situated in the heart of the city, so very close to a range of accommodation types and multi-storey car parking facilities.

What additional features and facilities does your venue offer that couples may find useful?

We have a fully licenced bar, fully stocked with international and locally sourced beers, wines and spirits in The Crypt.

There is a kitchen available for use through our dry hire option, which is situated on the same level as the main Church space; a green room that can be used for storing personal possessions or where the wedding party can relax or get changed during the day; and we have a small, atmospheric woodland garden decorated with festoon lighting.

What type of couple would fall in love with your venue and why?

Couples who appreciate the ethereal church aesthetic but who do not necessarily desire a religious ceremony; alternative and creative couples looking for a unique, timeless wedding space, and those seeking a non-commercial wedding ambiance.
