Behind The Brand

What was the initial spark for your brand, how did it all begin?

Like many wedding vendors, it all began during the planning of my own wedding, where I realized how transformative beautifully designed stationery could be. Not only did it set the tone for the entire event, but it also became a cherished keepsake of the day. Coming from a digital design background, there was something so magical about designing for something we could hold in our hands and share with our loved ones.

How would you describe your aesthetic?

Our aesthetic balances timeless elegance with modern artistry, often drawing inspiration from the charm and sophistication of European design. We specialize in crafting bespoke details that feel both luxurious and deeply personal, ensuring each piece becomes an heirloom-worthy reflection of the stories they celebrate.

What inspires your work creatively?

Storytelling is at the heart of everything we create at Type & Trim. Each couple’s unique journey inspires our designs, from the colors and textures they love to the mood they want to evoke for their celebration. We embrace the opportunity to dive into their world, shifting our perspective to craft pieces that reflect the essence of their event.

Tell us about the process for couples when designing/purchasing their wedding stationery?

Once we’ve begun our creative journey, we kickoff each project with a collaborative consultation to uncover each couple’s story, style, and vision for their celebration. From there, we craft the creative direction and design concept, thoughtfully curating materials, typography, and embellishments to ensure the couple feels deeply connected to the final design. After three rounds of review and final approval, we oversee every aspect of production, guaranteeing flawless execution.

What tips or advice can you share for choosing wedding stationery?

Start Early: Allow plenty of time to design, refine, produce and deliver your stationery to avoid unnecessary stress.

Provide a Moodboard: We love having a comprehensive overview of everything you’re planning for your event, from florals to linens, to ensure what we create compliments the overall vision. Including your stationery inspiration – such as favorite colors, textures, print techniques, and aesthetics – gives us a helpful starting point before we dive into the creative process.

Make It Personal: Your stationery is an extension of your story—incorporate meaningful elements like hand-drawn illustrations or a custom monogram. Even if you’ve never seen us do it, don’t be afraid to ask.

Trust the Process: Work with a designer who understands your vision and can guide you through the creative journey, ensuring your stationery is as memorable as your celebration.
