Behind The Brand

Describe the woman you design for…

Charlotte designs for nostalgic and thoughtful women, laid back, elegant and feminine.

What is your most popular piece?

Brides love my intricate bead and embroidery designs. Fine spider web lace, woven with chains of delicate beads, shining paillettes and sparkling crystals and jewels, detailed birds and flowers embroidered in silk threads.

What advice would you give to brides-to-be?

Let your heart guide you. You may find many distractions along the way, advice, articles, but if, like my brides, you have a strong sense of style you will know the dress when you see it, or at least know when you’ve found the person to help you realize it.

As a designer, what tips do you have for brides to get the most out of their fittings?

Invite a wedding stylist or your best stylish friend to accompany you, they will be fully focused on the complete vision of your wedding, bringing together all of the elements from the dress to flowers to the venue.

Do you offer a custom design service for brides? If so, how long does it take to make a custom piece?

Ideally, it takes around 1 year to create a bespoke gown. From finding our design direction, experimenting with shapes on the body to creating the final dress and all its intricate details. As the bride, you’ll become Charlotte’s muse, inspiring a bespoke design that’s completely unique and unmistakably you. They’re also made to reflect the wearer’s unique personal style and story.

Shorter timeframes are sometimes possible, and it’s always worth inquiring.

What advice do you give to brides to care for their gown?

On the day, don’t worry about your dress, just enjoy yourself.

After the day, get in touch with Terrington Burchett dress cleaners, UK who specialize in cleaning wedding gowns and heirloom clothing. They even offer a service to seal your clothes, ready for storage.
