Rime Arodaky Fall ’18 Bridal

Romance and rebellion, a whimsical collection of gowns to the beat of rock & roll

Romance and rebellion. Innocence and insouciance. This season Rime Arodaky sent a whimsical collection of gowns down the Fall 18 runway, to the beat of rock and roll, inside a light filled industrial space in NYC’s West Village.

“An embodiment of Rime’s bohemian spirit and love of juxtaposition, these were gowns designed for contrast.”

An embodiment of Rime’s bohemian spirit and love of juxtaposition, these were gowns designed for contrast. Billowing poet sleeves, delicate botanical embroidery, oversized ruffles and liquid-like silks – finished with metal accoutrement, thigh high splits, raw hems and cut out details that exposed bare shoulders and hints of midriff.

The stand out for us was the sleeve detailing. Boldly romantic, and beautifully diverse, Rime played with variations from 70’s inspired bell sleeves, to dramatic trails of ethereal fabric that swept behind like tentacles, woven with delicate polkadots.

Our favourite looks – a silk slip overlaid with translucent tulle that revealed bare shoulders and fell into billowing sleeves, embroidered with romantic florals. And for bridesmaids, Rime’s shorter gowns were the perfect inspiration for an all-white bridal party, with romantic, botanically woven fabrics spilling into sheer, voluminous sleeves.  A collection for wild hearts joined by free spirited nuptials and spontaneous elopements that segue into revelrous midnight celebrations.
