Your best pieces of advice for event planning?

The best piece of advice when dealing with the creatives involved in your wedding is to find vendor’s whose work thrills you and resonates with your style. Give them some inspiration and then let them do their creative thing, I think giving them some freedom to create something special for you will result in a gorgeous event.

I also adore when clients give me non floral inspiration for their flowers, once I had a gorgeous bride send me as reference for palette and style Botticelli’s ‘Birth of Venus’ . It was a stunning wedding.

What was the spark for Jardine Botanic? Where did the story begin?

I’ve adored flowers for an age but never thought of it as a career until about 6 years ago when I dove into flower almost by chance and have never looked back.

What inspires you creatively?

Natural landscapes, wild abundant gardens, ikebana, sculpture, architecture, old tiles.

Most memorable place you’ve travelled?

Oh gosh, I’ve been lucky in the travel department. Particularly special places I’ve visited: all of Iceland, hiking the Swiss Alps, The Blue Mountains, Tasmania, canyoning in Utah, hot springs in Oregon, The Redwood Forest, southern France. I’m looking forward to visiting Japan in October for the first time!

On a typical weekend we’ll find you?

Flowering up a storm for an event or if I have the weekend off I’ll be in the garden, pottering in my glasshouse or hiking with my boyfriend and our dog.

It’s not really a quote but I try to treat people and be in the world like my nan used to, with kindness.
