Minimalism melded flawlessly with modern details against the palatial enchantment of Bell Reco for the wedding of Themis and Rami.
Amidst architectural splendor, the ceremony was framed by a towering wall of ruched white fabric, softened by multi-tiered florals in cascading arrangements—a well appointed contrast that fused timeless simplicity with transcendent elegance.
Rows of fairy lights falling from canopy formations framed the outdoor reception while touches like the North African lamps illuminating their first dance were a poignant nod to their Mediterranean heritage. From the three-course meal by Sensacions to the carefully selected details that honored the ancient beauty of Bell Reco, the night was steeped in revelry and romance.

How We Met
Themis and Rami’s paths crossed one fateful day in March of 2017, in the heart of Washington, D.C. Introduced by a mutual friend, it was as if destiny had orchestrated their meeting. Themis had just embarked on a new chapter, having recently graduated from university, while Rami was deep into his journey of pursuing a Master’s degree. From the very moment their eyes met, an undeniable connection sparked between them. It was as if they had found something they didn’t even know they were searching for. From that day forward, they became inseparable, their lives weaving together in a beautiful, unbreakable bond of love and companionship.
Our Engagement Story
On December 29th 2022, while walking their dog Dido in their favorite park, Rami got down on one knee. The setting was perfect—private, intimate, sentimental, and filled with the love that had grown between them over the years.
But Rami had one more surprise up his sleeve. Just moments after the proposal, he revealed that he had planned a surprise trip, flying in all their closest friends to Austin, Texas. They would ring in the New Year not just with fireworks in the sky, but with the joy of their new engagement, surrounded by those they hold dearest.
What we love most about each other…
What Themis cherishes most about Rami is his gentle, curious, and creative spirit. He brings a sense of calm to every moment, yet his heart is always eager to explore new places and ideas. With Rami, life is not just lived; it’s savored—each day sweeter and more thrilling than the last.
For Rami, Themis is the embodiment of spontaneity, joy and kindness. Her playful spirit and warm heart bring light into his life, making every moment with her a treasure.
Together, they have built their relationship on a foundation of love, nurturing it like the roots of a strong tree. Their shared values center on the importance of their friends and family, who are the true heart of their bond.
“They were drawn to Bell Reco’s diverse spaces, which offered endless opportunities for exploration. From the pond to the terrace and villa, it felt like a journey through the estate.”
The Setting
Wedding Location
The ceremony for Themis and Rami was truly ethereal, set against the breathtaking nature of Bell Reco, with clear skies and melodic bird songs. They were drawn to Bell Reco’s diverse spaces, which offered endless opportunities for exploration. From the pond to the terrace and villa, it felt like a journey through the estate. The bride’s brother officiated the heart-warming ceremony.
Aesthetic
Themis and Rami’s wedding aesthetic was minimalist yet elegant, and Mediterranean. Both Themis and Rami are from Mediterranean countries, Lebanon and Tunisia respectively, and it was important to them to include detailed elements such as North African lamps for the first dance.
Preparation
On the morning of the wedding, Themis got ready with her Mother, mother-in-law, sisters and sister-in-law at the Almanac hotel overlooking the Sagrada Familia. Rami had breakfast with his close friends and got ready with his father and brother-in-law at the Almanac hotel.
Photography
Pablo Laguía was the wedding photographer. Themis and Rami were drawn to them because of their creative and effortless shots that capture the essence of the whole wedding, down to the small details and moments. They were naturals and blended into the wedding party.
Videography
PaiPai was our videographer. They were fun and professional. They made us laugh and tap into our natural selves. We had a blast working with them.
Style Notes
Ceremony Décor
The color palette was white and green with some copper tones. Themis and Rami wanted the aesthetic to complement the natural beauty of Bell Reco. We did not want to mask the natural beauty of the venue, but complemented it with a touch of home with the white florals hinting at the jasmine and gardenia flower that are symbols of Tunisia and Lebanon.
Reception Décor
They also had twinkle lights above the dinner area to highlight the stars. They had North African lamps dangling over the first dance area which made the moment even more special. The inspiration was the feeling of effortless summer nights on the Mediterranean with wine, friends and family.
Wedding Planner & Stylist
Themis and Rami came into wedding planning open to ideas, all they knew was that they wanted people to have a good time in a beautiful venue in Barcelona. Over the course of over a year and a half, Paloma Cruz was able to truly understand what would make the wedding authentic to Themis and Rami and created the perfect manifestation of their dream wedding. Paloma Cruz built the vision and tackled every request from the bride and groom with a can-do attitude. They kept Themis and Rami on schedule and heard.
Flowers
Paloma Cruz’s vision for the florals was perfect for the space and the overall aesthetic, they were unique yet not imposing. The bridal bouquet was chosen to complement the bride’s gown with white and light pink, a nod to her hot pink heels.
Stationery
Invitations and save the dates for Themis and Rami’s wedding were virtual. However, their names, beautifully rendered in Arabic calligraphy, were featured prominently on the save the dates and invites as well as the reception menus. This detail not only added a personal touch but also honored their cultural heritage, creating a seamless connection throughout the celebration.
Cake
Themis and Rami chose a chocolate and vanilla cake. This classic duo meant there was a flavor to satisfy every guest’s preference.
Food & Beverages
Themis and Rami’s wedding food was one of the biggest highlights of the night from the guests. The food from Sensacions was fun and elevated, with bursts of flavor in every bite and quality ingredients from the welcome canapés to the three course sit down dinner. The servers were professional and reflected the black-tie wedding aesthetic Themis and Rami were aiming for.

The Details
Honeymoon
Themis and Rami are still planning their dream honeymoon. However after the wedding they spent time in a Finca in Mallorca decompressing and recollecting.
Wedding Songs
Themis’ youngest sister Grace sang their favorite song 1+1=3 by Naika, along with instrumentals played by Charlie Hack, a friend of the couple. This was one of the couple’s most memorable moments of the night, with the full moon above them.
Entertainment
They had a playlist that the DJ took inspiration from that included Lebanese and Tunisian songs, oldies, and summer house music.
Celebrant
Themis’ brother Elie was the celebrant. He was chosen because he has a deep connection with the couple and has a gift of story telling. He captured the couple’s essence perfectly, weaving together touching readings on love and marriage with personal anecdotes.
Our Advice
A memorable moment…
Spending time together alone right before our ceremony. We had been surrounded by people, photographers, makeup and hair all day, and the 20 minutes we had alone in the villa as guests arrived was priceless. It put us both at ease and excited for the evening to begin!
One thing I wish I knew before I started my wedding plans…
We started with ample amount of time beforehand, approximately a year and a half, and that was perfect because it gave us enough time to organise. Choosing a wedding planner you trust was the most important piece of advice I would give. We were able to get through so many moments and issues because we trusted Paloma Cruz to solve the problem and offer creative solutions and ideas.
